my "this guy gives me the weirdest boner" player of the draft is burakovsky. saw him play at the u-18 for sweden and he was what i wanted avtsin to be. he's supposedly looking at the CHL for next year too. played in the Swedish 2nd league this year and some u-20

to me, erne, rychel and zykov are pretty much interchangeable. they're all like 6'1, 200lbs. gritty players, tough in the corners, pretty good amount of skill.

like i said nearly half our prospect pool is made up of D. time to make it closer to 65/35 like it's supposed to be. but i dont mind picking up a D if he's the best guy available.

also i wouldnt trade the picks for established players, marty. the habs have a lot of young talent, no need to trade it now, most of them aren't ready yet. let some of these guys develop, once you have too many guys coming up through the ranks, that's when you trade. it's gonna start happening pretty soon...

i think we have a very good prospect pool, i just think a lot of them are very similar players. kristo, leblanc, bournival, holland, hudon, bozon, collberg. they all play somewhat different style but they're literally all 6'... bozon is a little bigger... but anyway my point is half of them could end up voraceks and the other half could be palushajs. we need different types of players in this draft.

edit: i dont like bournival and holland that much. bozon, collberg and hudon are probably my favourite forward prospects. always have liked kristo, but i wouldnt be against trading him. id keep leblanc one more year at least, see if he can put together a few good months in the ahl without dying/sucking.

edit2: mark macmillan is my favourite underrated forward prospect btw. he was drafted at like 6'2, 145. he's been at north dakota 2 years now and has put on almost 40 pounds, has at least one more to go, plays all 3 forward positions.

to me desharnais and weber, the two guys ive been asking to be traded for the last 2 years, need to be traded. weber less so, but desharnais is a major hurdle in improving the team. get rid of him, sign lecavalier to 3 years, 4 MAX if you want because he plays some RW if you think Galchenyuk's ready for C. but the habs ultimately dont really need to sign any free agents, even if they do trade desharnais and get no roster players in return. some young guys like bournival, holland, leblanc and kristo will be pushing for spots.

also hoping diaz is expendable by season's end. beaulieu, tinordi, pateryn and ellis have a shot at having a breakout year and becoming regular NHLers.
