something with a 7-9 on imdb will most likely be a good movie. whether you like it or not is a different story.

that said, no, the matrix is not a top 20 movie. the ratings on imdb are not perfect, but it is the biggest movie database online. it really comes down to preference. rotten tomatoes is more critics based, where imdb is a 0/10 rating system based on user scores.

metacritic is a collection of good and bad reviews from critics and users on other sites.

all are good. i just use imdb because it's easier and more feature packed. that's all.


btw desi, i don't not watch a movie just because it has a lower score. i just have a harder time getting interested in it if it's not universally well liked.

IMDB sucks ass they gave Mighty Morphin Power Rangers like a 5 out of 10.

The only movie ratings I pay attention to are the Netflix ones because if something gets only 1 or 2 stars on Netflix, it has to be probably the worst thing ever.

You should try snowsports. If you lack the coordination then there is always tubing which is a blast at night, except you end up flipping half way down the run and while you're busy hugging a tree your tube is gliding 600m away to the base of the hill.

went tubing when i was 15. my goalie partner at the time ended up running into this kid and fractured his femur. he probably wouldve had a shot at the nhl but he lost his skating stride after the accident and now he's an overager in the Q, might get a shot in the AHL. His two younger brothers are top NHL prospects tho. TUBING RUINS LIVES VAG. IT RUINS DREAMS.

semi-related story: I used to play with a kid who got drafted by the Raiders. Big, strong, fast, sick shot. He probs would've been drafted in like 08/09 or whatever. He was better in Bantam and Midget than that Schultz kid ya'll got in that Halank trade. Anyway, he played a few games as a 15yr old for PA at the end of the season and did pretty good. Got like 3 pts in 5 games. Then next season he only plays 7 or 8 games with like 4 or 5 pts. Why? His GF, in Edmonton, said she'd dump him if he didn't come back home. So he quit. Just like that. (it seems they break up like every 2 weeks anyway)

Wasted all his talent and came and played Jr B. He assumed that he could easily land in Jr A but no Jr A team would take him after that. Pisses me off. I would've killed to be given the bags and bags of chances he got.

yeah me neither. except for one of my high school friends. plays for team canada rugby. under 21 anyways. might be on the full squad now though.

besides that, all my friends are losers like me.
