Considering how many teams are in cap hell this would be a good approach.

The coyotes are not a cap team. They should stay the course. These young players on ELCs and bridge deals are their only hope at becoming relevant. I agree in a bigger market your approach would be prudent, yet AZ has no choice but to hope these guys blossom young and get them somewhere before they are making too much.

You can have Campbell, Odouia, Rozaval for the 7 & 23. I'll throw in Svenburg as a sweetener That gives you 6 Ring experience for your young team...

As much as I'd like to torch Montreal's dumbass GM for Galchenyuk, there is no chance the Coyotes should be trading Strome.

The thing is that the Coyotes have been a cap team. They've sold off their remaining cap space to get more assets. That is why Pavel Datsyuk is on the roster. Giving the Red Wings a chance to try and make the 8th seed cost them a potentially franchise defenseman.

The Coyotes have a ton of ELC contracts and can ice a great team way under the cap, which is why they need to flip assets that won't help immidiately in exchange for ones that will. Cause if you don't do something now, you waste OEL's prime and end up paying Domi a stupid amount of money.

Might be a difficult year to write about without a few more vets to scapegoat.

The core of Domi, Strome, Keller, Duclair, Perlini, Dvorak, Chychrun, DeAngleo and Ekman-Larsson is on the verge of being one of the best groups of players in the NHL.

Please elaborate how they are on the verge one of best groups? Lots of question marks imo

You can shutdown Sean couturier for #7

Datsyuk had no real money impact, just a cap hit, you wanker.

I am pretty sure Datsyuk and another contract they hold doesn't cost them real dollars. I'm pretty sure they're spending less than the minimum in real dollars. I also believe the OEL ship has sailed. The guy is walking whenever he is UFA you can be sure of that. They need to flip him long before that. Also your strome hype is a little unwarranted. The guy has a ceiling closer to Turris than Crosby. That may even be generous. Yes he dominates junior. So did Yakupov and Daigle. Some guys just don't have it and it's looking more and more like hell be spending time in the AHL. He should anyways but most likely hell be your underperforming top line center for years to come. Sort of like hanzal, but worse.

Would be good to help fast track the Colorado rebuild, and Arizona gets two players in their prime.

Any GM of a team in the Coyote position who would trade those picks for a player in their prime now should be immediately fired.

Duchene would need to be extended first.
