I hated the day they traded Domi, I loved him!!
Colin Campbell hated Domi and he was the reason they traded him |

Interesting, wonder if him and Campbell just clashed a lot and he said trade me right (frank)ing now . And then hung up |

Back in the late 80's early 90's I played in Rye and got to know the staff there well. Campbell hated Domi and his antics. During a practice Campbell ripped Domi, a week later he was gone. |

Without looking it up, name 1 rangers player to wear that number. There have been 3. Only 1 is memorable in any way. |

For some odd reason I instantly remembered a pretty unmemorable one |

I didn't either, until I guessed and turns out we are both right lol. I had NO IDEA Desharnais wore 51. Tarmo Reunanen is the other and if you would've told me he was never a ranger I would have believed it |

I can’t remember what I ate for lunch like 4 days ago, but I can remember a meaningless rangers number from almost a decade ago |

Have such a different feeling going into this season. Rather than a big trade or offseason signing, need to hope for some big breakouts from the young guns.
Can Cuylle and Othmann can be difference makers?
Will Kakko regain his form from two seasons ago?
Can Chytil stay healthy and play confidently?
Will Laf finally get PP1 time!?
To me, these questions will make all the difference this season. Additionally, looking forward to seeing how Zib looks.
Edit: intended to reply to the 51 days post. Not sure why that didn’t work. |

I feel like we felt this same way going into last year. I don't recall us signing or trading for anyone big last year. Rather, bargain shopping for 800k players hoping one hits (like Wheeler, Bonino, Gus) and hoping for big improvements from some of our guys (which happened-Laf)
I am expecting a big leap forward from Cuylle this year. I think Othmann will take some time to be a differnee maker, and we will only see small glimpses of that this year from time to time. I sure hope Kakko can take the next step, but I am apprehensive. Same can be said with Chytil's health...but really hoping for the best. If Chytil goes down again, that could be a rather big issue. Brodzinski shouldn't be a regular 3C

Just saw Weekes tweet that the Preds goalie prospect Askarov requested a trade and will not report to their AHL team
I know his name was brought up a while back when people were discussing Igor & his new contract
Interesting stuff |

The entire NYR season rests solely on Ranger kids. Kind of a cool thing. The youngsters gotta be psyched that Drury and Lavy believe in them. And, I know, all you cynics on this blog will say NYR is in this situation because of lack of cap space. Yes that's true, but I'm going to choose and believe that it's because management have faith the Cuylle, Otthman, Miller, Schneider, Laf and Kakko can bring it to the next level |

To a (maybe) lesser extent, what can Rempe, Berard, Edstrom potentially bring to the table. If any of them are on the roster providing energy and a little production in place of Carrick and/or Vesey then we are in great shape.
Kreider Mika Smith/Kakko/Othmann
Panarin Trocheck Laf
Smith/Cuylle/Othmann Chytil Smith/Kakko

Is Smith known to play both sides?
I love that the majority of our bottom 6 is home grown (outside of Smith if he plays there & Carrick). I actually don't think Berard plays a game with us this season. I think he'll compete next season. We have allllotttttt of prospects that are going to need playing time sooner than later.
Edstrom/Rempe/Brodz/Berard/Othmann/Sykora/Gabe
I would not be surprised if some of these guys are dangled at the TDL if we are in a good spot

I am willing to bet this is Vesey's last season with NY if these young guys prove they are worth the bottom 6 roles. He'll be 32 year old UFA after the season and maybe worth trading at the TDL for a draft pick. Depth and options are great, but too many cooks in the bottom 6 can be a waste. |

It will be interesting because Edstrom, Rempe are RFA after this season. Edstrom has Arbitration rights. Brodz is a depth AHLer paid for through '26 season. Not sure how much trade value he has.
Berard, Sykora and Othman are still not RFA until after the '26 season.
And Kakko is a RFA with arbitration rights after this year.
And Carrick is there for 3 years.
On the D-side, you have Jones and Robertson who will be RFAs as well after this year.
This looks like some decisions need to be made by Drury at the TDL or before. |

Doesn't seem like they gave up a lot for him either. Could be huge for the Habs. |
