Thanks fido!
Should be easier when something actually happens.
But I'm having fun until then so it's all good. |

I understand the curiosity.
I'm personally wondering if I can become a "guest writer" for a whole year.

Jackeye needs to not be in the box as much if he’s going to help on the pk - WaterBoy
True. But you can't have him play physical and "protect the small players" without him getting penalty minutes at some point.
If he can limit the dumb ones and remain reliable defensively by being the "stabilizing force" on the third pair, it would go a long way for the team.

Improving is great but healthy would be even better.
If the team can avoid major injuries then I can see them making it interesting. |

Amen to that.
I'd love to see a full season of what we have to really understand what we might be missing.
Right now it is... I think we got something good, but too many injuries to tell.

Taking a penalty at the right time is not an issue.
He just needs to learn when that is appropriate... I get heat of the moment and sticking up for teammates, but sometimes that is playing into the opponent's strategy.

Agreed ... the potential looks good on paper but we need to see it on the ice.
We need to allow a lot less goals against for starters, I'm not blaming the goalies alone but we need to be able to clear out our zone much faster. |

Oh I think the Habs goaltenders last season (at least, the ones that remain) were very good. Even Primeau.
The defense needs to improve big time for us to compete. We gave up wayyy too many high dangers chances last season.

I think the D corps has the tools, just needs the reps. And with 3 more coming up to be regulars in the next 6-12 months (Hutson, Mailloux and Reinbacher), that will be an ongoing process.
I suspect we will have a lot of growing pain in this position, but the longer term rewards will be solid.
Still not sold on the goaltending...
As y'all know, not thebiggest fan of Monty (he is a above average back-up, IMO, not who we will end up as a starter when it matters). I think he is fine for now... Still not sold on Primeau, but he showed flashes last year after the Allen trade.
I think this is a very important season for both of them... perhaps more than any players/position in the organization.
also, if Fowler is the real deal, then great. If not, some work might need to be done in this area.
Overall, the Habs have youth / prospect depth, with more spots on the roster opening deeper into the 24/25 season, with the TDL and expiring contracts.
