I did always think he would resign. I am saying 3 years at $10.87/yr. But it he wanted $14.87M, that would still be ok. He has been so under paid for so long. |

Good for Pens fans and hockey he should not wear another jersey. Has his championships under his belt but still not sure over the next few yrs he wont want to chase 1 more as Pens wont be competitiv. |

I think that's a pretty accurate number for Sid. I'm guess 11.87 x 4. Not front loaded. |

Sid can have whatever the F he wants as far as I'm concerned. If he wants $1 more than Leon to be the highest paid player in the world again I would be fine with it. |

They'll be competitive with him on the roster...they just wont be contenders. Probably win a bunch of games, be a challenge for other teams most games, but fall short of playoffs again. |

What was the timing between him and the OV contracts? Pretty sure he passed that torch pretty quick if he ever even had it |

I think Ovi may have signed a bigger one before Sid now that you mention this....and I think Ovi negotiated it himself/didnt have an agent? I could be wrong here.

Looks like most everyone is in town though don't think I saw Letang's name. Interesting top 3 lines to start (informal, Sully isn't involved though Jeff Carter is filling in as a coach).

Feels like Sid knows who he wants to start with and Malkin wanted to try out a couple of the new guys today. Rooting for McGroarty and Glass myself, but that wouldn't shock me as a top nine.
Also wonder if they would put someone with Malkin that can take some of the center responsibilities. As nice as the line with Bunting and Rackell looked, we may not want a line where Malkin is the defensive conscience. |

You're right. Ovi has been making 9.5 since his rookie deal expired. If I remember right he got a bunch of years at 9M then a bunch at 10M because Leonis wanted him locked up for most of his career (was like a 12-13 year deal). |

Carter forgot more about hockey by the time he was 17 than Sullivan ever knew. |

The change is Sid spoke up and what he said killed your narrative about it.

You've always been too stubborn to just own up to being wrong hahaha....the only option he is weighing is how long to sign with the Penguins for...not the whole he's considering going elsewhere because of Dubas and Sullivan sh!t you've been spouting.

Ludwig was expected to be on LTIR to start the season but is practicing with everyone. Just adds to that waiver jam because they seemingly gave his spot to Aho.
Puustinen, Poulin, Ludwig, Puljujarvi, Bennstrom, and maybe Glass have to make the team or go on waivers with 20-21 spots spoken for depending on Glass. And that doesn't count guys like McGroarty or Ponomarev. Any of those first five names I could see getting claimed.
Oh and that doesn't include Nieto who seems ahead of schedule too. |

Yeah we're gonna lose some players we don't want to....unless there's another trade or two.
Fvck Nieto...he needs to go. He wont bring anything more, or better, than the other names and he also hasnt played in like 10 months while being in his 30's.
EDIT: all the same I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep if Puus, Poulin or Bennstrom were claimed....probably not Puljujarvi, either, though I like him better than those other 3. Losing Ludvig, McGroarty, Glass or Ponomarev would not be cool |

Did you expect anything different? Ludvig plays a physical game and is 4 years younger than aho. Age and softness matters with dubas and GM sullivan..
Guam has a more physical game than the penguins.

So, McGroarty, Koivunen and Ponomarev are all waiver exempt....which can work against young guys staying in the big boys lineup....
McGroarty might end up in AHL, yet. Wonder what his attitude about it would be, if so.... |

I think for Ludwig to stay he probably needs to take St. Ivany's spot. Or Aho takes it and they decide they'd rather have St. Ivany play big minutes in the minors.
Truthfully, I do think Ludwig could use a little more time in the minors. He has potential as a bottom pairing D, but he missed a lot of time with injuries in the AHL and his positioning still needs work So I don't mind trying to slip him through. |

I like Puljujarvi and Poulin more than the rest of them. But I wouldn't want to hold back McGroarty for any of them.
And I agree screw Nieto, especially after adding Lizotte. |

Nieto’s faster than any player you’ve been blabbering on about. |
