Probably in the 8’s. Just hopeful they can keep the number down. I don’t like big goalie contracts, especially for a player that hasn’t had a huge workload yet.

This. I'm ready to see how the lineup shakes out.

Sweeney is "optimistic" that a deal with Swayman will be done by December.

Ugh I wish this could just get done. Swayman will not report to camp until they have a deal (obviously).

I'm not a huge fan either. The landscape is going to change similar to forwards though. Draisitl's contract will be shift on forward contracts in terms of cost with McDavid coming next. I think the same thing will happen with Shesterkin for projected or actual top tier goalies. Prices are going up, if the Bruins can lock him in under 10 to me it's a win.

He's yet to shoulder the burden of a full season as a starter without someone like Ulmark supporting him.

Yes he was great in the playoffs, but that is too small a sample-size to give him anything north of 8.5 unless it's a short-term contract.

I think where Sweeney really screwed the pooch was in not signing Swayman to a two year contract out of arbitration. No idea what the thought process was...
