Sabers kids are really awesome! They put 44 shots on goal and Detroit's goalies, Lyon and Campbell both had .909 S%
Pitt had less resistance from Talbot and Cossa.....neither had a good game. |

In other news:
Just hours apart, Cam Neely says the Bruins offered Jeremy Swayman $64 million, and Swayman’s agent said such an offer had never been made.
"Normally, I do not release statements or discuss negotiations through the media.
However, in this case, I feel I need to defend my client. At today's press conference, $64 million was referenced.
This was the first time that number was discussed in our negotiations. Prior to the press conference, no offer was made reaching that level.
We are extremely disappointed. This was not fair to Jeremy. We will take a few days to discuss where we go from here." From Gross, Swayman's rep

Oh my goodness that Pittsburgh game was hard to watch. Pitt’s D structure would pin down the players. It’s just the preseason, I know, but my goodness. Goalies look like they stole a point in Buffalo (if that was a regular season game). Loved seeing Soderblom get a shorty!
Thanks again H2. Always glad to see you |

Got this tidbit from another blog:
"Gross has a history of not informing his clients of offers from teams. He didn’t tell Torey Krug of an offer the Bruins made before he reached free agency. He didn’t tell Nylander of offers from the Maple Leafs the other year. Nylander actually had to go sit down with the team himself to get a a deal done. This is what likely happened here. The offer was made, but Gross didn’t inform his client. Now that the info is out there, Gross has to cover his rear end."

Sweeney and Neely are considered two of the least pleasant front officer members in the league for a reason. Believing what they say at face value is every bit as naive as believing everything a player/coach/agent says. Everyone in this league lies almost every time they speak. Especially by omission. |

The wings were slop last night. They have a much better lineup than what showed up. I’m usually an optimist, but if Lalonde doesn’t play systems that are to the wings strength, bye-bye and good riddance. Hello Coach Q.
Only bright spot was Kasper. Seeing the kid drive the net was a welcome sight. |

Well, now the hockey world has numbers and more than anything the fan base has numbers. I do remember Nylander contacting Dubas, I never heard about that from Krug. Swayman now has an issue. Instead of being a “rumored” number the front office has said this was their actual number. Life just got less pleasant |

I agree. The Pitt game was an awful watch. I had to erase some of my descriptors before putting up the write up. obviously this is split squad and some players finding their “NHL legs”, but Pitt had them pinned down way too many times. Kasper was definitely a bright spot. If he hadn’t lost the puck on his stick and finished that opportunity it would be on his highlight reel. |
