Glad this drama is behind us...won't be surprised if he turns into the next Rask with half the fan base loving him and half hating him. |

Haha Boston fans can be fickle sometimes. I think he will do well. I want to see how he does playing 60+ games.

As opposed to the stellar organization in Vancouver with all their Cups...
Oh wait...
Didn't the Bruins just steal one of your centers?

I think there was some hate that he couldn't "steal games", especially in the playoffs. He played well in his tenure. The team in front of him didn't get it done and he got a bad wrap for it.

Let's see how he does with a 60+ game workload. Will be telling. Team is committed now |

Well most of management should've been committed a while ago. |

Maybe don't be one of worst teams in the league right now before talking.

That's easy Game 6 Chicago, Game 7 Montreal in '14, Game 7 St. Louis, the bubble exit. Some folks blame him for the Flyers collapse in 2010. Not saying I agree with it but for those who hate on him those are some of the reasons. Also a lot of folks think that being positionally sound and making saves vs. fish flopping all over the place, leaving the net to hit somebody and taking dumb penalties like Thomas did means Rask wasn't trying or didn't care.
Thomas got hot and went on a stellar run and we love(d) him for it. But the for balance of his career he wasn't very good and couldn't make the league til he was 33 and the pipeline was dry. Rask didn't get a cup but he was a far more talented and much better at the position. |

I wanted Tuukka to win one so badly. He was so solid for so long and still got so much poop.

Every one of those teams was missing something with the exception of 14. That loss, even going 7 games with Montreal was a failure top to bottom. Iginla was the only one who came to play. 2019 was the worst. They couldn't solve Binnington and the Blues ground them down. You could see it coming the whole game. They had nothing and hung Rask out to dry. |

Yeah, 2019 was a complete role reversal from 2011...the Blues out "Big Bad Bruins'd" us. I don't think that series even goes to seven if Miller had been in the lineup and healthy as well as Chara not playing with a broken jaw. Our guys were getting their asses kicked and we had nobody to provide some retribution...Rask didn't have a great game 7 but there was no push from the entire team. Still think Cassidy made a fatal mistake not putting Backes in for game 7. Every time he got the call back into the lineup that postseason, he made the scoresheet...add to that the pure intangibles of playing a final's game 7 against the team that didn't want to pay their old captain. |

Anyone blaming Rask for the collapse vs Flyers is a clown.
That season, Marco Sturm was the Bruins leading goal scorer with a whopping 22. Topped the team with TWENTY TWO goals.
In playoffs, Dennis Wideman was the Bruins leading scorer with 12 pts.
Let me say that again... Dennis Wideman. Leading scorer.
And wasn't that the series that Richards, being a "richard", broke Krejci's arm?
Not a chance I blame that series on Rask.
