Good point about the 2nd line needing to get going.
Ehlers is already displaying his absent mindless play with his no look behind the back passes to no one......Namestikov and Perfetti have no idea where Ehlers is going, so it is going to take time for this line time gel.
So, really nothing new in terms of the 2nd line. |

I do agree the second line is a bit disjointed at this time...let's hope they develop chemistry in the next few games so we get the 4 lines going. It's only going to get tougher as the year moves on but I will give the team 10 to 12 games to really evaluate the progress. I still like the idea of keeping cap space and get something done way before the trade deadline for a center or defence. Thanks again Kunit |

first, thank you for writing about the Jets!! long overdue in here!! give it some time, it will take the old regulars some time to realize we have a writer again.
secondly, this may surprise some but it's not just our 2nd line!! our top line has NOT scored a 5v5 goal yet this year!!
Clearly its Shief and Connor's choice to play together and we haven't had a coaching staff with the balls to stand up to them. that duo has been outscored and severely out chanced at 5v5 for the past 4 years!! can they play together in OT and on the power play, yes!! but they should never be on the same line again, you cant possibly argue with 4 years of evidence. |

2nd line came to play, got the monkey off their back so to speak.
Ehlers needs to shoot, shoot, shoot and shoot the puck. His one timer on the PP was impossible to stop, and his goal off the rush was nearly as unstoppable.
I think the message is getting through to shoot the puck as Ehlers also shot the puck on another play where Perfetti was an option, but Nick decided to be greedy and shot the puck instead. He didn't score on that play (would have been the hattrick) but I am OK with a greedy Ehlers. |
