Risto and Nurse would complement each other well. |

I agree Sean, Flames faster, better and much younger.
Easily beating the old, slow, Oilers.
Biggest take for me from the game was the keystone cop D that the Oilers have. No urgency, effort or even involvement in the game. I also agree Skinner did them no favours, guy looked legit in the playoffs but looks like a weak Justin Pogey right now. Biggest coaching move that all the former coaches have done is reunite McD and Drai, it’s like neither player is driving his own line, so put the two goal sucks together. Easy peasy, thank you very much! Oil will turn it around but the defensive system Knobby employs, won’t bode well. |

I'm cheering for Podz but having him on their 2nd line is madness.

Skinner right now is as bad as Campbell was last year. First Michov goal was beyond pathetic. 2nd one was still stoppable. Skinner can't stop a beach ball. |

Someone should tell the Oilers that the season has started.
Draisaitl laughing at management (and the fans) looking at his deposits every month! Leon hasn't broken a sweat in 4games.
And so.eone should tell Bouchard that his team is the BLUE TEAM! Stop giving the puck to the other guys!
-giveaway machine
-shoots into the block every time
-outlet pass ends in icing most of the time
-cant pass to the tape
I don't get it with Bouchard...I truly don't get it. |

Well. You gotta wait. Teams that go through long playoff runs don't usually do well in the beginning of next season. Lose of team speed is the biggest sign of fatigue after a long playoff runs. I use to watch the Ducks when they were making the playoffs and wasn't till almost Christmas till they usually got there legs back.
There are other things the Oilers could do. Like spreading the minutes more evenly over all 4 lines. Giving more players the night off. Switching to a slower system.
Like if you wana see a more modern example you can look at the lighting. They had alot if slow starts but always made it back into the top 3 in there Division. You guys just need to be patient |

Bouchard game tying goal he wisely takes a chance and cycles down into the slot wide open and finishes his one timer perfectly. That's both a mentally and physically skilled play most dmen can't do. Draisaitl might not break a sweat, but he broke the Flyers. |

The cup contending oilers (with a major assist from refs at the end there) - really dug in against the playoff bubble flyers for the OT win |

Lmao...so one good play moves Bouchard's F to a D-. He was possibly the worst player on the ice. He's lost in his own end and can't hold the blueline. Watch his passes...never on the tape and the receiver has to reach for it every time. He sees the shotblock coming and shoots into the block every time. Watch the powerplay mid second period, Bouchard ruins the whole thing for almost 2min straight.
Draisaitl has obvious star power. I just wish he would give a damn for more than half a game. I guess you missed him riding the bench. He'll produce though, hopefully when it counts. |

Instead of the Oilers adding Perry, Ardvison, and Skinner, would it not made more sense to target Martinez and even Brodie or Gio? Man that D is horrendous. |

Perry, Ardvison, and Skinner have been good so far (especially Skinner, surprisingly). Henrique and Brown started to drag the team back into the game, Stetcher helped amp up the room. Ryan has looked good, constant effort from Janmark, so.....
McD and Drai were a combined -9 going into last nights game, and Drai didn't even look interested in playing until he was benched. Nurse just doesn't think the game well enough, Hyman can't stay out of hte blue paint, and RNH has been brutal. Oilers problems will go away when the top players put their big boy pants back on, and buy back into the team game. Getting the PK group all on the same page again with the new personnel too would help. |

Oilers problems will disappear, just like last season, once they get a few saves and shots to go their way. |

We gotta play decent until the trade deadline and then add a top 4 dman. Oilers will be fine, they have enough offense to carry them through till then.

Most dmen can't activate to the net and finish a tap-in from the back door? Lol |
