Cheers Carol! Can’t see the team being quite bad enough to be in the top 3 unless they (management) embrace the situation and start cleaning house.
Think we see a good effort this afternoon, one of those rare tight checking efforts. 2-1 Bruins. |

If they trade a bunch of complimentary players and keep everything else the same they’ll just keep seeing more of the same.
Keep Pearson, Garland, Myers, OEL etc. trade every one of the core pieces. Horvat, Miller, Pettersson, Boeser and Demko.
You can’t have a rotten core if there is no core. |

Went to a buddy's place for dinner last night and we watched both games, Cal/Wpg was the 1st hockey game I've watched this year that wasn't the Canucks and it was nice to watch two teams play with a system you could see, it was very entertaining hockey, Canuck game on the other hand was just really sad to watch. |

You'd certainly get a haul of assets if they had the stones to even explore trading a few core players. Can't see it happening.

Thanks Carol. I'll be watching Bedard in Victoria the night after. Maybe we can compare notes. |

I didn't bother watching the Canucks game live, did watch it afterward. The 2nd period was just funny. The 3rd period was just sad to watch. Especially during that 5v5 stretch where the Leafs were skating circles around the Canucks in their own zone and kept coming in waves in waves, just sending in two guys to forecheck and grab the puck from the panicking Canucks dmen shift after shift.
Bruce said they stopped playing in the 2nd which is true enough. But they got destroyed in the 3rd period too. I know he's an optimist but the Canucks were just outworked and outclassed after that 1st period.
A pathetic display. |

The team is going through the motions, apathetic like the fanbase. |

quote=Shuswap Wap]Perhaps. I wanted them to hire Boudreau but maybe a hardass system coach is what they need. Look at Bear’s comments after the game:
“I think it's frustrating because you take a breath out there,” Canuck defenceman Ethan Bear said, “maybe don't make a hard play, and in this league it comes back down and a lot of times it ends up in the back your net. In Carolina, I really learned that: you have to be consistent in the same way. Sometimes it's not fun and it's not flashy, but it does get the job done. I think we just get away from making the simple play sometimes and it comes back to haunt us.
“You’ve got to be predictable. I've seen it work.”
Thanks for posting this.
Bear, a true Alpha.
Not only does he say this, he was also shaking his head that 1 game, when his teammates were heading off the ice, late in a period, with a few seconds left.
It is like the team had again given up on a potential play. |

They know they're not good enough and it doesn't seem like they like each other
But I'm sure another coaching change and moving around some 3rd liners and depth dmen will change everything |

Maybe drafting another undersized Swedish winger would help. |

Ideally by next year they trade away another mid round pick for a healthy scratch dman, draft another undersized soft winger, sign another winger, and bring in a new coach along with some new depth players. |

Unless Demko returns to form, it's going to get ugly. |

As long as the undersized winger is skilled, that is all that matters. |

I think what this team needs is a good blowout game.
7-1 Bruins. |

It's just going to be Bruce being the fall guy, team will play better with a new coach temporarily, Demko probably rebounds at some point and steals a few games where they get dominated. Ownership/management/media/homers fall for the "playoff pace" during 2nd half of the season again.
Rinse and repeat |

Thanks Carol nice spin of outcomes that the Canucks will get Bedard.
Will this be accomplished without trading off core players?
Perhaps the season ending injuries will commence? |
