He's the fourth highest paid forward, not third. Ek left out Stamkos.
And yes, where TF is the Tampa blogger? |

I would have waited to see more before committing but for that production it is on par. |

Are Hagel and Cirelli really 8 year contract type of players? Weird contracts. |

It says when his contract kicks in he will be the 3rd highest paid forward because Stamkos doesn't have a contract extension yet. |

Hagel, Sergachev, Cirelli and Cernak make a good young core going forward.

Cerelli does not seem to be preforming up to his pay scale, at least offensively. Is he that good defensively to receive that much salary? I don't really thing so. |

The Lightning are strategically ahead of other teams. The deals for Cirelli, Sergachev, Cernak and now Hagel pay the guys in their prime years.
Stamkos will come back on a discount, along with Hedman as the cap goes up and the Lightning remain a top 5 team for many more years.
This keeps their core together over the long haul and eliminates the need to over pay for free agents in their 30s.

Cirelli was recovering from surgery last season. I'd give him a partial mulligan on that one.
