I suggest tempering expectations for Tsyplakov.

Many similar players from professional European leagues arrive each year, with some teams importing 2 or 3 players annually. The six players used as comparables in the article, make-up less than 5% of such players. The vast majority of these players do not find success in North America; most opting for a return to Europe.

The greater concern with Tsyp is his skill-set. He is simply not as talented as most imports. Despite his recent 47-point KHL season, current scouting reports remain decidedly unfavorable. It is impractical to compare Tsyp with the Russian imports mentioned in the article. Unlike Tsyp, each of those players has at least one Elite skill. Instead, I suggest similar aged Bridgeport players present as better comparables.

I agree he may become an everyday NHL player, possibly even top-6, but I would bet against it.

If his skating is an issue like it has been noted. I am not sure that is an option. I see him more as another in a long line of middle six forwards.

No Mr. Anderson to bail out the Rangers this series. Like the Islanders found out, the ECF is the real deal. Florida is deep team.

Panthers are a complete package team that plays with skill, physical edge, and composure. Caps had none of this. Canes had the skill part. Cats were a little sloppy with a few bad turnovers that led to breakaways last night, but otherwise dominated 5v5. If they can clean that up, and stay out of the box, I think the series is theirs.

Yeah if I were going to bet it would be on the cats. I can see Lavy throwing Rempe out there next game which will play right into the Panthers hands. Outside Trouba, Lindgren, and Rempe(when he actually plays), the Rangers don’t have an answer for the physical play. If the Panthers keep up with the rough stuff they may run away with it.

The cats played so poised with the 1-0 lead. Kept pucks in front of them, pressured Rangers D, and didn't force any blind passes to their d-men or the front of the net. They played simple hockey. That's how you lock down a win. Rangers can play Rempe but he's not changing anything IMO. If the Cats win next game, this series is prob done in five games.

Agree. I think it goes 5-6 games. Cats have everything going for them, including a cup final loss last year, to provide extra motivation. Also, I don't know how people feel about Maurice, but I love that guy, and the style of play he coaches.
