I definitely would like to see Frost with Michkov. With a good two way winger like Foerster on the other side. I think Frost has the skating and skill set to mesh with Michkov. |

I hope MM is with RP for pure entertainment purposes. Or Cates/Laughton if at center |

Excited to see the second line together if that happens. They won’t be a playoff team but I’m still excited to watch them. |

They were close to being a playoff team last year. If Coots can stay healthy and effective all season and Drysdale and Michkov can improve the powerplay; it’s possible. |

There were a ton of teams, especially in the East, that underperformed. Probably not happening again. Pair that with those same teams getting better or taking a step forward, it’s going to be a long season . There is zero chance this team makes playoffs. |

pretty much. just baffles me how peeps look at this roster and think otherwise.
Even #88 took several years to make playoffs despite him being dominate. This assumes MM is even on that level.
The D and goaltending is below average. |

You never know what could happen. That’s why we watch the games. I think it’s more likely that the goaltending will be subpar, Coots won’t hold up and that Michkov will struggle some. I just hope if it goes bad it goes very bad and if it goes good we get a fun season and some entertaining playoff hockey. |

Would agree... Devils arent missing the playoffs this year . Expect they will replace Islanders...Caps will be improved...Pens will be desperate to try and make it. Flyers will be in the 10 to 15 slot in the draft. Not good enough to make playoffs not bad enough to get a top pick |

I agree. I just think that there might be some regression. I don’t expect the pp to improve. I’m cautiously optimistic about MM but if he has trouble adjusting to the league etc I hope he doesn’t get thrown under the bus by fans. Give him some time and this year really doesn’t matter when it comes to the big picture as we’re not contenders. |

This is what runs through my mind. Can Michkov elevate his linemates in the same way that Lindros did?
And even if Michkov does improve the performance of his linemates, I can't imagine a team with a lack of true top-pairing talent on defense and big questions in goal making the playoffs... that's not to say the Flyers can't overachieve and make things interesting, I just don't see a path that leads to the playoffs when comparing the Flyers with the rest of the Eastern Conference. |

My worry is that some think he’s the saviour and he’s likely not more than a very good piece. I hope I’m wrong but cut the kid some slack and just let him develop even if this process takes a few years. It’s not like he’s coming into a super strong team where he can integrate slowly starting in the bottom of the lineup. |

If the Flyers just had a mediocre PP last season, they would have cruised into the playoffs. I still don't understand why the Flyers won't pull the plug on Rocky Thompson? |

Can’t imagine anyone thinks Michkov is going to make the same kind of impact Lindros did. I sure don’t. I do think, though, that he could improve their pp. |

"Zero" may be a bit of a stretch, but I can understand people's pessimism.
My biggest question is the goaltending. If Ersson can take a step up with his development and Fedotov can acclimate himself with the North American game, we have a decent chance.
I'm not expecting Michkov to come in and have the effect that Lindros had - nobody ever has - but if he can settle in quickly, he'll have a perceptible impact on their chances. |
