Would we invite Martin Jones to a PTO assuming he doesn't get signed somewhere else? No guarantee Kosolov is back in North America and we just don't know about Fedotov. It might be wise to have a vet, cheap, back up as insurance. |

Bill,
To your knowledge has anyone in the org reached out to Koslov's agent regarding his intentions for this upcoming season? If so do you now the response they have recieved?
Seems odd with camp roughly three weeks away that they do not have clarity on this situation. Are they just waiting to see if he shows up and go from there? |

The Flyers have yet to actually terminate RYJO's contract, leading to speculation that a settlement is in the works. The NHL and NHLPA are both highly motivated to get this settled behind close doors and not let it reach an arbitrator, where precendence can be set one way or the other. The NHL would prefer teams remain able to terminate contracts due to legitimate material breaches, while the NHLPA would want to assure that contracts cannot be breached because of injuries. |

Danny did an interview, he stated they reached out to the new agent and heard nothing back.

I am sure the agent of RYJO would want this settled sooner than later so RYJO can sign another contract if possible.

Why are the flyers trying to get MM to flee back to Russia by taking him to the Oxford valley Mall?
Take him to sesame place while your at it. |

where did you copy that from?
https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/trotz-predators-playing-it-safe-with-potential-cap-relief-from-johansen-s-contract-termination-1.2166038#:~:text=The%20%244%20million%20cap%20hit,as%20if%20it's%20in%20escrow.
The $4 million cap hit has also come off of the Predators' books as a result of his termination, but could be reapplied in part or full if a ruling were to come out in Johansen's favour. He has 60 days from the date of his contract termination to file an appeal. |

the nhl gave the flyers their blessing yet highly motivated to settle. seems that will be the precedent set then for others in the future.

I'm still confused as to how a settlement will work. Is it similar to a buyout number and then that number counts against the cap?
It seems to me that it would be a great way for a team to save some cap space if that is how it works. Move to terminate the 4 million deal, settle for 2 million, 2 million against the cap for that season.
That cant be how it works. I could see all sorts of abuse if teams even had a chance of succeeding and getting a player to settle. |

would be much better than a buyout from a cap POV.
Lets see how many follow the flyers trend setting ways. |

Just basically the team pays the player to go away quietly, 100% cap savings.
See: Corey Perry. |

Perry's contract was 50% signing bonus too, so he had already made half his bag before the two sides ever started talking settlement. No wonder he and his agent decided not to grieve. |

He stands to lose $8M dollars. There's no way he's gonna recoup that in UFA at this stage of his career. He's lucky if he even gets invited anywhere for a PTO. He's gonna fight this until the bitter end. (He also doesn't give off the impression that he gives a (frank) about playing any more games) |

They signed Fedotov to a 3.275M cap hit deal. They're committed to him.

You obviously copied and pasted it from somewhere. It's not your tone. The process was not expected to be resolved quickly. It has to play out. |

This might give some insight. You have to obviously have a legit reason to terminate.

So basically, If the Flyers win outright, he is off the cap. But if they settle there will be some sort of cap recapture penalty but not as much as it would be a buyout?

Pretty much but how much would be on the cap would depend on the settlement, if there is one. My gut feeling is the Flyers don't want to settle. Need to know more about the process.

Do you think Fedetovs salary could be part of the Kolosov issue?
