Agree, frustrating to have to resort to a low budget flyers broadcast to watch these. What’s so important on MSG Network these days that they couldn’t schedule a real broadcast? Bring some legit attention to the prospects and kick off the season. Always liked Traverse City, disappointing to not participate anymore. |

ESPN did a Q&A with some players.
Question: What was your summer highlight?
Trocheck: I didn’t do poop this summer.

Crosby signs two year extension. Remains underpaid to help his team.

He'll say "I'll take a friendly deal, after I get paid and win some Stanley cups like Crosby". |

That doesn't quite jive.
Sid has been making the same $8.7M since finishing his entry level contract. Signed before their 1st Cup win.
I know a lot of you guys don't like him. But, any team would be lucky to have a player and leader like him. |

Lucas Raymond, 4OA pick of Red Wings in 2020 draft, just got 8 years for slightly over 8M a year. For those saying that is too much for Laf, let reality sink in. I would sign him to 8x8 now, but unfortunately, I don’t think that will do it. |

I don't disagree there and am not even referencing whether I like or dislike him. He's an amazing player. I will say at the time $8.7M a year was high bucks. Starting in 2008 he became one of the highest paid players (at least one of the top 3 highest) on that contract for nearly a decade. At the time, he did not take a team friendly deal. He was paid. |

I get what you're saying. But, I moderately disagree. At the time, he was far and away the greatest player in the game. Yet, he signed for less than Ovechkin AND Dany Heatley. The maximum allowed at the time was $11.3M. He saved his team over $2.5M in salary for years.
Anyhoo... starting to get pumped for the new season!! |
