frost brink and farabee look ready - 2Real
I think on the NHL network, they said that Drysdale added 10 pounds or something like that. Did anyone else catch this? bulking up a bit to withstand those big hits...
Brink Bee and Frost did look very solid. Preseason game vs rookie laden Wash lineup but i'll take it. Also liked the way Bjarnason played. I've heard he's in consideration to be one of the tenders for Canada's WJC U20 team this year. |

neither goalie really had to do much at all. made the saves they are expected to make.
it was pretty boring uneventful pre-season game. |

It's unbelievable? Seriously? First pre-season game with NHL players taking on a squad of most non NHL players? Honestly, what does it mean? Big picture?

there you go again confusing reality with being negative. - hello it's me 2050 Reality is that they had some kids playing their first NHL preseason game and they looked good from what I heard (didn't see the game cause it was blacked out on NHL Network here). Everyone knows that the Caps didn't ice an "A" list team, but it's okay to smile every once in awhile. Michkov and Luchanko acquitted themselves well, and the young goalie stopped all the shots he faced including 3 shootout shots. It's okay to be pleased with the results. Plus, they didn't improve their place in the standings and hurt their chances for getting a higher draft pick in this year's draft. |

Well you get to see the new fancy shiny player MM against better caliber players.
You also get to if Jett has any potential.
Have players like brink and frost grown into adult bodies?
How does drysdale look after his surgeries and the weight gained?
Did Fedotov look better than he did last season, did he look more comfortable?
So plenty to see. I am not down on them like quite a few on this boars are.

Speaking of player’s weight; the Philly broadcast team said yesterday during the game that Michkov is 5’10” 150lbs. That doesn’t seem right. I saw him at training camp. He looks shorter and stockier than that. I understand giving him an extra inch or two when listing his height, but he’s got to be heavier than 150, right? |

- Hello its me 2050
Look it's pre-season, so I agree we can't all get too excited about the result. But there were some things that I noted that were positives for sure. The PP looked better, more focused, more assertive. Also, some players looked good, especially Drysdale with his movement. I also like Luchanko in this game, he was very noticable and used this speed to generate some really good scoring chances. On the Caps side of things, Kristall and Miroshnichenko looked really good in this game. And with Leonard, the Caps have a nice young core of talent up front. |

There was a guy on The NHL Network (Sirius/XM) a couple weeks ago that said he weighed in at 147 lbs. I had to go look it up and he is listed at 5'10" 183. |

Carsen Bjarnason looked good in this game. What I like is nothing got through him. For example in one sequence Kristall came down the left wing and took a nice shot from aobut 10 feet that was labeled for under the arm of Bjarnason, but he was able to squeeze it. That is what I look for from young goalies, do they allow pucks to go through them. In the shootout Bjarnason made a nice stop on the 2nd attempt. He was beaten on the 3rd SO attempt, but the puck hit the post. |

I don't take much from the game. One thing I thought and you can correct me if I am wrong but Brink looked a little faster. Maybe it was due to the team they were playing but I thought his skating was noticeable. |
