Luchanko with 18+ minutes of ice time. That was second among forwards behind TK. Hmmm... |

Wow. They’re really testing him. I still think it’s best that he goes back to junior but I did note that he’s wearing a normal roster number 17 rather than a high number like most rookies normally do.
Good to see mm pot one and Sam looked strong. I want to see feds get a full game start now. I think Ersson will be fine as long as we keep him to say 50 starts allowing feds to take the rest but he needs to prove he’s a capable nhl tender. Also. Wondering if those rumours about kolosov are true? He’ll come over and be given a shot at the big squad and if he can’t handle it go back to the k. Wow very weird situation. |

When is the next round of cuts? IMO, the 3 phantom D can be sent down |

In a preseason game. Would you rather he played 8 minutes? Of course they are going to play him a lot of minutes in a preseason game. Hmmmmm

IMO Ginning does not, he was not as bad as Attard but not a level where a case was made to keep him up. Andrae did nothing to make me think he should stay up, he was okay. If he is just average again next game ne can be sent down.

Ginning can go directly to the AHL, he was clueless on the ice last night |

Ginning and Attard have gotten their chance and have not fared well enough. Andrae is making a case. Though realistically the only player he could possibly beat out is Zamula. We know that isn't happening because he is Michkov's voice and ears for the time being.

Yea Andrea was solid, quick decisions, moves well. Maybe first call up guy. |

what is more relevant, the dozen or so games ginning played at the end of last season or the 1 pre-season game?
either way neither are making the team, so it is all moot. |

Dont see anything Andrae has done to beat out Zamula as of yet. |

Time to send Jett back to junior - ClaudeFather
the jett can probably make the team as a bottom 6 center. is that what the flyers should do? They have enough bottom 6 centers. send him back.
this will be a torts decision imo. whether he stays or goes. |

Can Jett make the team? Well yeah. Bottom 6 easily.
Should he? Probably not without another year of seasoning. Initially I thought 2 more easily, but the kid is showing he’s more ready than anyone thought. |

It was one pre season game. He played in the NHL last season. He showed he has some promise. It's time to give players like Ginning and Andrae legitimate looks and chances.

Bottom 6 is probably not great for his development. I felt going in to camp that it was a foregone conclusion that he’d go back to junior , maybe play a big role on Canada wjc squad and then well see about next year but sounds like he’s making a good case which bodes very well for the future. I think in a couple years he might end up being a big part of the squad. Just not now imo. |

I agree we have to slow our roll on this. He has looked good, but it is preseason and he hasn't really played any games against NHL regulars who are playing at regular season level. If they give him a 9 game look its not the end of the world. IMO it wouldn't even last 9 games.
I still think the best course of action is to send him back to juniors with a much clearer view of what he needs to do to become an NHL player.

I’m all about giving them lengthy looks at the nhl level. Even if they struggle now and then, let’s see how they do. |

I wouldn’t do it, but I wonder if they give him a 9 game look before sending back?

from elsewhere:
Friedman:
-heard Kolosov may think there is a clearer path to the NHL than was shown to him last season
-he has a signed contract here and while there’s no official agreement with the KHL, there is an understanding to honor each others contracts
-expected to play preseason games
-believes there will be an option open to him to return home if he’s not in the NHL by a certain time this season (which I take to mean he’s in the league, not going back and forth) |

I'd need to see more than one game to have a clearer view. Not really fair to judge a player just based on one game. That being said, I think he was okay last night but for me to think that an 18 year old is ready for the NHL. He would have to stand out heads above other players in a pre season game and he didn't do that.
