He/she/it/them walked right into that! Well-played.

Yeah, a lot of money for a goalie. "But with the Cap going up..."

So $64M wasn't enough, but that extra 3% got it done?

Other goalies that have played 60+ in a season, have ok numbers, win a vezina or a cup are licking their chops right…

Swayman basically has to take the Bruins to the playoffs and 2-3 rounds on his back now.

Why does it seem impossible for Bruins to win two rounds in playoffs?

And he just signed the deal FFS - start trolling when he's 5 years in with meh results.

Couterier has a 7.5M cap-hit and he scored 38 pts last year. That contract aged well...

Good for him he didn't sway off course and stayed the man. If he wasn't that good why did they pay and why were other teams trying to trade for him?? Bobrovsky never drafted and has great numbers and 1 cup signs for 10 million, that guy that was in Montreal who was?? signed for 10 and won no cups

New Goalie Market

10.0M - Sergei Bobrovsky
9.5M - Andrei Vasilevskiy
8.5M - Connor Hellebuyck
8.25M - Jeremy Swayman
8.25M - Ilya Sorokin
7.74M - Juuse Saros
--------------------------------
Old Goalie Market

6.4M - John Gibson
6.0M - Jordan Binnington
5.9M - Philipp Grubauer
5.76M - Igor Shesterkin
5.4M - Elvis Merzlikins

I think Igor Shesterkin will get 11.5-12M per year on a 8 year deal

Ask the many Flyer fans about that Couturier contract how they felt when it was signed. The only justification would be that he over performed on his previous contract, but not happy about it.

The Bruins could go just as far as Korpi or a 4 million goaltender would take them.

If the Flyers traded a 7th for Swayman (it would be an upgrade) I would be pissed if they signed him to that contract. Pure and simple.

If Bruins just went with Korpi they'd be throwing away the season. Kinda like the Flyers if they put Ersson in net for another 50+ games. I'm sure they will win the division, right?

Did I want to Bruins to sink 8.25M into Swayman? No. It's about 500k overpay IMO. But deal is signed an we move on.

Boston also isn’t a team on the rise. They play really good structured hockey and they have Pasta / McAvoy, but they are very close to being pushed in with the bubble teams.

People have been calling for their decline for a while now and they have been proving people wrong, but that can’t last forever.

As much as Swayman doesn’t fit where the Flyers are at, he definitely won’t be a fit in Boston soon. If he plays just average then that’s going to be a very expensive paperweight to move.

Hopefully he didn’t get the NMC.
