Thanks Jeremy.
I may have to switch back to DTV to get Bally.
But I cringe when thinking if and when I will have to call customer service. 😬

I was going to do the same, but they’re pushing DTV stream with a 24 month contract. You can try Fubo for 7 days free, or do the Bally’s app (I think there’s a free trial there too). Do whatever is best for you and your $.

As much as I talked about dumped DTV, I've had to hold on for NHL Center Ice....., and frankly the ONLY reason. IF the "Bally's" sports app doesn't have regional limitations (e.g., I live in SC and because of that, I can only see 'Canes' games, it's not worth the extra $$ which are already in short supply..... The salary cap includes forecasted broadcast $$$, correct? If so, the hit from Diamond/Bally's could have an impact on cap increases, so I'd THINK the NHL would be putting something together to address this........And if the NHL goes to a stand-alone and have DTC limited by region, it's going to be a wasted effort because people move and have fave teams that aren't within their current region (e.g. me being in SC but a devout DRW fan). They need to unscrew this with haste.......

ANYWAY, Husso gets the nod? This makes me nervous knowing PIT's coming in with a case of the ass...terisk. As I look back and digest the ON roster and what folks on WWP, Chiklets, 32 Thoughts, etc.... say, I was probably wrong about Watson. Good guy, physical presence, but probably the reason Kasper isn't on the ON roster. I can see both sides of the argument, but the impact on potentially bringing up 3-4 "kids" for ON26 vs having Kasper here now may bite us in the butt. We shall see, but some compelling arguments for & against over the past few days (including on here....).

Today will be a good day! First day of the NHL season (for us at least) and the Tigers have a chance to win the ALDS!

Quick story about how the Tigers became my favorite team. I grew up an A's fan because I was a huge Ricky Henderson fan. Being a rebellious child, I actually rooted against the Tigers just to annoy my family. My stepdad was a huge Tigers fan and as a business owner, he used to lay himself off during much of the summers so he could watch or go to as many games as possible. I actually had a lot of fun in 1984 but was still primarily an A's fan.

Fast forward to 1992, my stepdad (and also my hero) learned he had esophageal cancer. There was no cure. This was pre-internet, so I wrote a letter to Sparky Anderson to ask him if he would send my stepdad a signed copy of Bless You Boys. Not only did he sign it, but he and Richard Tracewski hand delivered it and spent several hours with us. The book was signed by the entire coaching staff and a number of players, including Trammel, Whitaker and Fielder. My stepdad never showed emotions, but I never saw him so happy in my life. From that day forward, I've been a diehard Tigers fan and will be for life. Go Tigers!

So, here’s the weird part. I’m about 45 min from Detroit. The local Bally’s lets me see the local broadcast. You being in S.C. Are probably better off using the ESPN+ because you live far enough away. Seeing that the new app has a local offering should give some hope for fans. It’s being run by Amazon (who signed a Thursday “red zone” style deal where it pans between games). There’s too much to go into, but see if the free trial of Fubo or Bally’s may have what you’re looking for. Or, pay for one month of the ESPN+ package. There was someone here from the Toronto area who uses that to see all of the Red Wings games. A lot more moving parts are going on in the background but not worth bringing up with no salient direction (ESPN/ABC having some weird issues). My hope is a restoration of NBC which took the NBA from TNT starting next year. TNT has King Charles signed for 8 or 9 more years and no basketball starting next season at this point.

For Husso, he played well in the preseason (not necessarily an indicator) and is in a contract year. Both he and Lyon want to raise their stock and I hope Detroit rotates Lyon in. We’ll see how it pans out

That is awesome! My poor stepdad was from England and never watched baseball (excellent Cricket bowler) so when Grandpa came over and wanted to see a Tiger’s game in the regular season, dad had a heck of a time figuring it out! We had so much fun, I think there was a movie “Tiger Town” that was produced around that time. Those signatures your stepdad got, that was a very classy move. Thank you so much for sharing that!

Between NHL CI & ESPN+, I think I'll have most of the games. The reason I like NHL CI is that they show the pre-and-post game stuff (Red Wings Live, etc...), so I get to see the studio wrap up, Mikey in flannel, Ozzy being a clown - he's REALLY a good broadcaster - and the rest of the DRW goons being goofy. I'm going to play this year by ear.........I could give to cents less about HOW I watch, I just NEED to watch. I swear, the Wings will be playing whilst I'm on my death-bed and I'll go out with a damn BIG smile on my face!!!

Amen. The decision to give exclusive content over multiple platforms was to raise revenue but ultimately seems to be frustrating fans

Same old Husso. Also Yzerman has to be held to account. Would Kasper in line up make team better or worse. I believe better. Also I hope I am wrong but if Wings start this season terrible they better move quickly on Lalonde. I hope wings have it in them to come back tonight
