First!!!

Overall great game against a mediocre team. That said I don't think I've seen such a dominant performance in a long time. I was worried when they didn't score on either 5 on 3's. Usually if you don't capitalize on those you lose due to make-up calls.

I loved the Bedard to Teuvo to Foligno goal. And it was nice to see Taylor Hall get on the board after that lead pass from Brodie.

I get the feeling this board got quiet because of the TV situation. Hard to talk about the games if people can't watch them. I posted a youtube about how to get the antenna to work on a Samsung smart TV a few threads ago. We bought an antenna from Amazon for $20. Whatever TV you have, I'm sure there's a youtube that will get you set up. One little drawback, the feed isn't always great. Made me want to move the old rabbit ears or bang on the side of the TV on occasion.

Bedard is a monster. Watching him live last night, he has taken a huge step from last season. He looks way stronger with the puck, and his shot is also insane. To think about how good this kid is going to be in five years is remarkable.

The Sharks aren't a good team as they are what they are (rebuilding)... but the Hawks beat a team at home in a game they needed to win.

When we talk about their rebuild, I like where they are now. I don't think they will be a playoff team, but they will be a lot more competitive this season, and that will matter as they begin to call up players from Rockford.

I'm happy saving the 170 bucks a month. Most of my friends cut the cord years ago and this is what finally did it for me as the Hawks were the only reason I had cable. That said, I want the CHSN to be a streamer. I'd happy pay 20 bucks a month to run it along with HBO/Max, Disney+, NetFlix, Prime, Hulu, EPSN+ and Apple TV on my Firestick.

Good for you about the tutorial to help others. It is a pretty easy process and my reception is very good.

Zach, you might want to listen to Richardson's comments about Reichel after the game. Overall, he was quite happy with Lukas' play and from what I understand he's expected to get another game.

His lower TOI can also partly be explained by the number of penalties in this game. The Hawks had basically 7 PPs, and had to kill 2 penalties. Reichel got less than a minute of time during the PP's and zero on the PK.

Not great by any means, but he seemed to be doing the things asked of him when out there. We'll see what else they have in store for him.

I got my antenna working yesterday after trying several different locations. Not bad, but I really hope there is a Hulu+ option very soon.

One thing I'd love to see from them this year is to be able to string together a number of wins in a row. Like everyone, I'm not expecting playoffs, but to just prove they can play consistently for a number of games in a row and get the results would be great to see.

Same here or some other streamer. I'm fortunate to have good reception. I've watched all the games upstairs. My antenna is set near large windows and I think that helps.

Yes. If they can consistently beat teams at their level or lower, it would be great although it might be a small list of 4-5 teams like the Sharks.

If they can beat the Sabres, starts the streak and shows consistency of outplaying beatable foes.

From last blog

quote=LAHawk]Aren’t Vlasic, Kaiser, Allen, del Mastro all Bowman area picks?

Now if you want to talk about developing those picks, yeah the Boemsn era significantly lacked in that area. Of course development was not high on their radar at that time.

That is what i said, from a guy who couldn't identify one in the draft for years might of hit in 3 good ones already

I mean if you are so invested in Reichel why aren't you watching him on every shift he skates?

I did and i see no reason to sit him for the next game, he played well the only complaint i have is when the puck is passed to another player in the defensive zone he tends to drift away from the guy he was covering, I'd like him to play a little tighter to that player in the defensive zone, other than that he had a solid performance.

I really don't care for him playing on the 4th line and at center but that's LR call.

Wow, Gubranson and Kent Johnson with serious injuries . The Blue Jackets are probably calling KD for the phone number for Rem Pitlick.

I don't think anyone is all that excited to see Reichel on the 4th, but there is no spot for him in the top 6 at this moment, and he doesn't have the game to play on D!ckinson's line. If he can prove himself responsible and effective over the entire sheet of ice, maybe they finally consider him in the top 6 (if Kurashev keeps up his current play, I can see him getting that center spot - obviously, I'm not a current fan of his).

Not to mention, I'm sure there will eventually be an injury or two that gives him another opportunity.

They can have AA. I would give him away. Give Reichel 15-30 gp He will do what Richardson asks.

As far as Phillips goes, I don’t see him getting into lineup unless another injury among blueline crew. He has to do what the coaches ask and if he still doesn’t think and respond well enough then he has to go. He is either not capable or not wanting to make good decisions I could live with less than regular physical checks from him as long as he thinks and plays sound defensively

I know it's early but I see several teams struggling Detroit Buffalo Colorado etc.. on defense this just a hypothetical what could the Hawks give to get say Dylan cozens from Buffalo. I know it's improbable but they aspirations of playoffs and a need a stay at home defensive defensemen. Hawks get there second line center of the future on pretty good deal Buffalo gets stability on there back-end. Thoughts?

Colorado isn't struggling on defense really. They are missing Toews but still a capable defense. Their goaltending is the league's worst so far.

Phillips will likely depend on how they think Allan is doing. Wouldn't surprise me if they ultimately thought he'd be better off with more minutes in RFD. Not that I think he's played poorly, but he'd just get more opportunities and TOI in RFD.

It would probably need to be Vlasic and Reichel for Cozens. I don't do that if I'm Chicago.
