Sweeney from the press conference: "I believe Joe Sacco has the coaching experience to bring the players and the team back to focusing on the consistent effort the NHL requires to have success."

If this doesn't disqualify him from being a gm, I don't know what will. Got to be (frank)ing kidding me. Management is literally the problem, and they just stated as much out loud at a press conference.

Good (frank)ing grief

SNL writters - in their hay-day - could not make up funnier shyte than this.

Of course there will be a short-term "rebound", but Bruins will not make the playoffs.

Unfortunately Sacco will be the fall-guy at season's end, and the Dynamic Duo will still be around Next season. Bleccchhh.

Yeah that was so odd. I really thought Sweeney and co. were going to come out and admit they messed up and fire themselves. That's what GM's usually do, no?

At what point the big big boss will say ok guys, you had a good run but it's time for a change at GM and president position INSTEAD of firing a coach.

Man, look at the win-loss record for Cassidy and Monty. Can't blame them.

I am confident that the Bruins are a better team that their record shows and they will battle for a playoff spot but let's be honest, we are not winning a cup this year.

Who calls the shot of promoting a Providence guy like Viel to the big league. Is this the best we had to offer ?? That tells alot about our prospects pool and that is not on Monty.

Openly not a bruins fan, but when the brass traded Ullmark without having Swayman signed....that was your kiss of death.

Only when the Bruins don't collect a dime of post-season money.
(which could very likely be end of this season)

The success of the team during Neely's tenure has been nothing short of amazing. Because it shouldn't have been at all. The bill is coming due for years of poor drafting, poor trades, poor signings and poor personnel choices. 3 Jack Adams coaches have been fired during his tenure. He's overseen 2 incompetent GMs and has despite his best efforts to fail... won a cup.

The cup team was an aberration. The Hockey equivalent of the 2013 Red Sox. Lighting in a bottle if you will.

The team needs to stand pat with Sacco and just ride out the season. This front office should be done making anymore decisions until the end of the season and then terminated along with all staff except Bob Essensa.

But before any of that. Charlie Jacobs needs to decide. Is it status quo or do you actually and truly want to compete for cups. If it's stats quo which is the 1st round then by all means. Change nothing and keep hitting a very low bar year after year after year.

I'll still be here, watching and going to games. Because I'm dumb and I don't learn.

The Bruins have legitimately been knocking at the door for the last 15 years. Maybe I am biased because hockey is my sport but it is the hardest championship to win. By a mile. The hard cap gives plenty of teams a shot. Every year a case can be made for 5-10 teams (more sometimes) that are deserving to win the cup. The parity of the NHL is unrivaled (especially right now). The Bruins have been in the mix almost every single year, competing for cups.

The Bruins constantly dip into the trade deadline market to go for it. They are always tip toeing the cap. That is all you can ask for. I think Sweeney has done a pretty solid job (im giving him a pass for 2015, I'm over that storyline). Barzal, Connor and Chabot have WON LESS. Neely, meh. I don't like how he handles some things but I think the combination of the two of them is a good balance. Sweeney is far more level headed LOL

Maybe Sacco will e better second time around like Pete Carrol. This is weird because years ago it was always “management isn’t spending enough to put us over the top”. Now it’s straight up management not drafting well enough and overpaying the rest. I was excited about the the splash signings, but then trying to hardball swayman, one of their own::to me was bushleague: 2nd time in three years they got rid of a good coach; worked out for the last one I wish Monteythe best

Won less where they are at? Sure

Won less than DeBrusk, Senyshyn and Zboril? Guess you can make a case for DeBrusk but I think this is a fundamentally misrepresented argument.

The real question is would the Bruins have won MORE with Barzal, Connor and Chabot? Dunno man. I think the way you framed the storyline you're over is kinda funky.

After both Cassidy and Monty, Sweeney and Neely can Suck it. They are the problem now regardless of their record. Time for new blood up top. New vision. Sweeney and Neely had their chance, their vision is now washed up. Bye Bye
