I'm hoping MB waits until teams get cap compliant and see who becomes available.

On Patrick Sharp, and Chicago with its tight cap space, it's really tough to say what Chicago wanted but if they wanted a cheaper contract roster player with some potential upside, that fit could still be Eller who could fit in as a third liner for now with Richards being there.

To be honest, I know very little about Chicago's bottom 6 now.

I would assume a 2nd round pick and a prospect with some decent upside would also be involved.

Also very much depends on what their opinion of Eller is, as someone else said, do they look at his start to last season and his playoff or do they look at his suckiness in between. If they felt he could play 2-way hockey and have the potential to be the #2 centre in a year, then its possible, but unlikely. It's ok to dream

On the other side, regarding Sharp, it's difficult to wonder if he ends up holding more value now or after another year.

Does Chicago risk getting less if they wait a year to trade him depending on the cap?

I just know I don't see Galchenyuk or Gallagher being part of any deal out of town.

I also know I don't want to see any deals that end up with Montreal having any of Prust, Moen, Bournival, Weise, or Malhotra starting in the top 9. All of those are guys in my opinion who belong on the 4th line unless there is an injury. Depending on the injury and the opponent, then Prust or Bournival get moved up.

Outside of a trade, it's something along the lines of:

Pacioretty-Desharnais-PAP/Gallagher
Galchenyuk-Plekanec-PAP/Gallagher
Bourque-Eller-???

??? belongs to Sekac or De La Rose.

The RW is up in the air. You never know if they could put Sekac with Plekanec if he apparently was that good defensively. Gallagher likely ends up on the top line in that case and PAP with Bourque and Eller.

I just don't like seeing Galchenyuk ending up on a Plekanec-Sekac line if its biggest role will be a shutdown role. He does still need a bit of work on his defensive game, but it's going to hurt his offensive output right now if he's constantly playing to shut down the opponent. And if that is technically the third line in the shut down role, the thought of Bourque and Eller technically being the second line is horrible in my opinion.

I just can't wait to see Galchenyuk where he belongs playing with the talent and size that he is meant to be surrounded by.

I'd be cool with Gallagher being his right winger for now, but if Scherbak works out, having him and Galchenyuk with a tough left winger would be nice.

Long term, if all works out, I know De La Rose is slotted at RW but can play all forward positions. De La Rose-Galchenyuk-Scherbak could be an amazing top line. Backed by Pacioretty-Desharnais-Gallagher or another RW on the eventual 2nd line would be fairly good.

Here's hoping all works out. LOL

Here is the issue I have with Habs line up right now. Pacioretty, Gallagher, PAP are all left wingers but 2 of them look like they need to play on the right. Bourque is a RW but everyone has him penciled on left. Gaklchenyuk is a center but everyone has him of left.

I wish we had the right players to keep people in their natural positions. Since we cannot however then p-ersonally I would do something like:

Pacioretty-DD-PAP
Galchenyuk-Plekanec-Gallagher
Sekac-Eller-Bourque
Prust-Malotra-Weise

Question I have...who plays with Subban?

Realistically it would be Markov or Emelin. I wouldn't put a kid with him yet to be Subban's leash for when he screws up on a bad pinch.

And Galchenyuk played RW (very well) when not playing C in Sarnia. I also think you could play around with the idea of having Pacioretty on his off-wing so he can drive the net more.

When it comes to Subban, this year: Markov and Emelin. Next year, hopefully Tinordi for most 5 on 5 situations.

IMO you need to separate Markov and Subban especially with loss of Gorges. We have only 3 guys capable of big minutes. Maybe Gilbert as the 4th.

Emelin-Subban, Markov-Gilbert? Not really liking that personally.

Really hope that Tinordi can take big strives and plant himself on the left of Subban.

Completely agree, but the prospects aren't there yet to take away the big time minutes. At the start of the season Markov will still be logging 22 minutes a game. Hopefully Pateryn and Tinordi can step up to take away those minutes on the PK and in other tight situations at the end of periods as the year goes on and going into next season.
