From what I saw of Berra last year, he wasn't ready for Prime Time yet. I don't know if he's improved (I assume he has potential from what Colorado gave for him). What do you think about signing Martin Brodeur as a backup for Varlamov (like Giguere was)? Does he have enough left in the tank to give Colorado 16 good games, and maybe a few more if Varlamov is injured sometime during the season? And if so, how much should the contract be worth? I'm assuming nothing more than a one year deal, but what money?

After seeing Berra play yesterday against Boston, I don't think finding another backup will be necessary. He looked a lot better than last year, much more "ready to play." I don't know if he's the "1B" Haynes & McNabb say he is, but he seems good enough to back up Varly this year.
