Name ONE player you think the Habs will acquire between now and Monday's Trade Deadline.
Let's see who can guess and have bragging rights.
(yes, I'm bored) |

This is probably closest of all the guesses so far.
I'd take vinny if Philly retained half his salary and took PAP as well |

Really like Mitchell coming home. Flynn I am not sure why we picked him up knowing we have guys like Tangradi who can basically do the exact same thing but oh well. |

Tangradi is useless.
Everyone here in Buffalo was surprised they gave up Flynn for a 5th. He's one of those heart and soul guys who works hard every shift "with 10 goal potential." Was he a need? heck no. But for a 5th, who cares
Neither of them are here for anything but depth and maybe to get Malholtra out of the lineup. I'd be shocked if either made a significant impact this year.
Pacioretty - DD - Gallagher
PAP - Plek - Galch
Weise - Eller - DSP
Prust - De La Rose - Flynn/Malholtra/Mitchell/Bournival |

I am wondering why we went out and got so many right handed shots.
Does Flynn play LW as well?
Maybe in the playoffs JDLR goes to LW on the 4th with Mitchell in the middle and Flynn on the right?

Man this team is full of bottom 6 guys! We have what 3 top 6 guys? Patches, Pleks, Galchenyuk. Gallagher is arguable one but on a Stanley Cup contender, he's a perfect 3rd line guy who can fill in for a top 6 guy if need be. |

See I disagree whole heartedly about Brendan Gallagher. I think on most teams he is a #1 RWer.
For goals he ranks 19th in the NHL among RWers, for points he ranks 22nd, for +/- he ranks 3rd and for shots he ranks 8th.
So who are contending teams?
With 17 goals take a look at the contenders, apart from Tampa who has Kucherov (23) and Callaghan (20) he's right there with RW'ers for contending teams and thius despite playing 2nd and 3rd line minutes most of the year |

He's not a prototypical 1st liner because we all want the St.Louis or Hossa or Perry but the fact is that he produces. Times have changed where we used to have 5-10 100 point guys. Now if a player scores 60 points then people say that is a good season.
Gallgher is productive
So here are the contending teams with the #1 RW goal production:
St.Louis: Tarasenko 31 goals
Anaheim: Perry 27 goals
Tampa: Kucherov (23) Callahan (20)
Pittsburgh: Horquist 18 goals
Chicago: Hossa 18 goals
NYR: St.Louis 18 goals
Montreal: Gallagher 17 goals
Kings: Gaborik: 17 goals
Islanders: Okposo: 14 goals
So on a competitive team who has a legitimate chance at the cup, Gallagher is right there. |

His heart and drive is contagious too.
It is too bad that the refs have it out for him now

Gallagher is now 13th in goals scored among RWers.
He's now head of Hossa, Eberle, St.Louis, Callahan, Oshie, Bobby Ryan.
In fact he is only 1 goal behind Kessel, |

He rarely takes a night off, all about the team and game. He is still young, look forward to seeing his game in a couple of years.

Btw, I hate when hockey analysts compare him to Marchand. |

tied for 11th now. Safe to say he has cemented himself as a 1st line RWer right?
Of course if he played LW, he would be tied for 13th. Basically means he is a 1st line winger on more than half the teams in the NHL. |

Even more puzzling.
Therrien keeps going back to the dry well with Desharnais at center. 46 points as the #1 center is pathetic considering your winger scored 37. Marinaro was pissed last week asking if the Office de La Langue Francais was making coaching decisions now because Desharnais doesn't deserve top 2 center minutes. |

With all the line shuffling MT has done lately I don't understand why he hasn't put Chucky back at center.

Well With patch hurt there are going to be changes again. No chance of Chucky back there. Wouldn't be surprised to see Hudon recalled though. |
