It would probably benefit the coyotes if Hall played less than Rich 5v5 if it was due to the amount of power plays the Yotes received. What is hard to comprehend about that? |

Please don't enable him by implying he has positive character traits. His M.O. is the very opposite of courage. These past few weeks have been the predictable outcome of his prolonged and intentional mission to breed divisiveness for artificially-inflated attention as well as smearing many site users with ignorant generalizations and deranged, incoherent ramblings. It took longer than usual, because he used to be somewhat whimsical and entertaining, but "the boy who cried wolf" is a helpful parable for a reason. The overused tactics were a smokescreen for a shocking incompetence at this "job" that everyone now sees through.
I find bullying and victim-blaming as outrageous as most people, but this is an apt example of someone getting exactly what he deserves. I just hope that his game of playing the aloof writer while secretly being the most thin-skinned, immature and defensive person on the planet is over. Predictably, he will either triple-down on this nonsense or possibly shift gears to protect his ego in another way; probably by propping himself up as a martyr against these "5 guys" who keep picking on him. It does seem like the point of no return has been crossed though, and he has no creative way to redefine himself. He had his moment, and now he can go sleep in a pile of jean jackets and relive his glory days of trolling with sham politics on a hockey message board. |

Anyone who thinks is is not a political issue but just a human rights issue is woefully ignorant. I wish it was just a human rights issue but it is not. |

It's a human rights issue that only rears its ugly head every four years during the American presidential election, right? |

Jimmy is currently trying to get a few of us permabanned for being "white supremacists." I don't talk politics. So I think it's quite hilarious. I'm still posting so it's looking like Jimmy failed. |

4 of the 7 goals scored in game 1 were on special teams. But 5-on-5 is where games are won and lost. Solid insight.
So if today's game featured another 13 minor penalties...Tanner's coaching adjustment would be to cut back on the 6 minutes that Hall played on the PP. Give those minutes to Brad Richardson. That allows Hall to get a few more 5-on-5 minutes.I
Fortunately for all of the Coyotes fans reading this brilliant idea...Tocchet isn't an idiot. |

I also like how Kuemper (greatest goalie ever) let's in 3 goals but is still credited as the sole reason for the Coyotes win. Not what happened. But this is what fits the narrative you've been spinning all year. Lame. |

Yet Tanner comes out and states he never pulls out his phone in public and certainly not when people are around him. I wonder why? What is so bad on his phone that he doesn’t want people to see? Certain images? Videos ? Hmmm 🤔.
Could it be true or just another lie? I mean we all know he doesn’t actually watch Coyotes games which means he has to check his phone when a goal is scored and gets the alert on his phone from the Score or NHL APP. |

Well Tanner got his wish. Taylor Hall got a few extra 5-on-5 minutes. Too bad he was terrible. He spent 8 minutes in the penalty box. He was -2. Brad Richardson had his ice time cut, as Tanner suggested. Seemed like a mistake. Richardson won 75% of his faceoffs while everyone else got caved in.
The great Barrett Hayton went 0 for 7 on faceoffs and was -2 after just a few shifts. Tocchet likely realized this kid isn't ready for the NHL so finally benched him. But Tanner would have double-shifted him, because of Jfresh scores or something.
Lawson Crouse scored again. He's the guy Tanner wants to scratch. Again, his WAR numbers or Jfresh card says so.
Kuemper let in 4 goals including a couple of very weak goals. So that's 7 in 2 games. But he was probably just unlucky, or maybe injured? But don't be fooled. He's the best since Hasek. |

It is Tocchet's fault for the four goals Kemper gave up. Bad coaching always results in poor goaltending, except when the goaltending is good, than the 'tending was in spite of said coach

If only Tocchet paid more attention to Tanner and Jfresh. More Hall, but not on the PP. More Hayton, even though he's getting caved in. Less Richardson, although it's smart to use him on the PP. No Crouse, even though he's an excellent bottom 6 option. No Grabner at all, even though he made Tanner look like a fool. |

Kuemper played great. None of the goals he allowed were his fault. He was unlucky. They just randomly went in. Kuemper's saves hockey above total shots SHATS was 400% this game compared to Freddy Andersen's SHATS which was only 100% after shutting out Columbus. My Jfresh card said so. |

The team he actually cares about - not the Coyotes, but the Laffs - were playing today. So he probably didn't even bother watching the final period of the Coyotes game, flipped it to the Laffs, watched them win, and is now celebrating by renting some Blockbuster VHS tapes. The Laffs winning a single pre-playoff game validates everything he has said about them. Best center depth, best LW depth, best RW depth, best 7-th d-man, a tactical genius for a coach, best 4th line in the NHL, greatest roster ever assembled in the cap era. It's a lot to digest. So give him 24 hours. He'll be back tomorrow. Something something luck. Something something Tocchet. I've been talking to Jfresh. Etc... |

I thought this post summed up Jimmy quite well. It's from the poster "Field Marshal" on FanSided...
I find it rich that you're trying to play the victim card here. If you want to be considered a credible writer, respecting your readers is required. You don't do that. Quite often, you use your pieces to mock the opinions of commenters which is juvenile and unprofessional. You claim to value the opinions of others, yet you descend into insults and personal attacks when you're challenged on your work. It's childish. Part of being a mature writer (and person in general) is having the ability to accept constructive criticism and apply it to your work. You refuse to do this, continually repeating your claims, which displays a total inability and unwillingness for you to grow as a writer.
This is a fan site, but when you're anything but objective - even when you state you are. In the past, you've actually tried to argue that Draisaitl is an "undeserving" candidate for the Hart Trophy. He outscored every other NHL player this season, an impressive accomplishment considering the depth of talent in the league. Instead, you've claimed that Matthews is a worthier nominee, despite him not having finished first in any offensive category. When you make claims like these, instead of presenting numerous arguments to support your belief, there's only one or two and the "facts" you lean on are based on certain situations, like 5v5, or projections like expected goals, rather than actual goals scored. This completely lacks credibility.
You would likely find more positive feedback to your pieces if you took blinders off and acknowledged some very simple truths that many readers have tried sharing with you, but in your usual, arrogant way, you dismiss any critical replies. Personally, I think you're an incredibly insecure writer. When you wrote for The Hockey Writers, you were quite often challenged on your views and just like on this site, you maintained an aura of egotism when anything you state is critiqued or questioned.
I'd like to be an optimist and believe that you'd take any respectful criticism directed your way to heart, but you'll very likely prove my point in replying with a juvenile response, or just outright ignore this. If you truly wish to evolve as a writer, James, consider what many readers critique in your writing and if you have the courage, commit to some self-reflection in order to improve and be better. |
