I was surprised Kapanen and Hyman didn't have more of an impact. Kapanen makes guys look silly with his speed. Hyman is usually the hardest working guy on the ice which opens up time and space for the big boys. - gergeswillems
Hyman was one of the most important parts of that 3-0 comeback. |

Kadri led the Avs in points during the seeding round. Slots in perfectly as a 2C that plays a 200-foot game. He's locked in at $4.5M for a couple more years.
Meanwhile, Kerfoot was awful and is locked in at $3.5M. Barrie had no points in 5 games, was afraid to get hit, a minus player, and is certainly leaving as a UFA.
But Tanner still says Dubas won the trade. Hahaha. If you are in a cap crunch, you don't trade the guy on your roster who is actually on a great contract. And basically get an overpaid bottom 6 player in return.
A smart GM (ie not Dubas) would have made the bold move to keep Kadri, and trade Marner at the height of his value. Let someone else pay him. Likely could have secured a true #1 d-man for Marner. So now you have Matthews-Tavares-Nylander-Kadri as your 4 key forwards. But then a true #1 on defense. Smart people saw this coming. Tanner didn't. |

Expected goals, save percentage, we lost the games but we really won. |

CBJ playing down low and giving the Leafs zero time to pick corners is what won the series.
Natural stat trick won’t tell you any of this though. |

Spot on.
And just about everyone could have seen this coming....Except for apparently The leafs, And Tan-boy! Whom predicted a sweep by Toronto....Ouch!
But honestly Torts teams will not be out worked. He refuses to accept it.
And when Toronto lost Muzzin...Well that was just the final nail in the coffin!
The best thing the Leafs can do is to say they all have Covid and that is why they showed no heart. Easy/peasy |

Were you expecting him to lead the team in scoring? What’s going on here, he played fine. Kapanen sucked but hyman was fine. What were you expecting ? |

I know you're a complete moron. How exactly did Hyman play well in this series, CM? Other than the one goal he scored of course. |

I thought Hyman played decent for what he is, a 2nd/3rd line winger who can get in and bang around a bit. A lot of TML players didn't show up, but making Hyman one of the leading reasons for that is ridiculous. How about Tavares missing a wide open net? How about the entire team changing when they puck's going the other way? The passive defense?
Not saying Hyman was good, just that I don't think he stood out in either a good or bad way. Like most of the team, he was just okay. But Marner, Tavares, and Kapanen were much more disappointing. |

That was my original point. Hyman didn't play poorly but he didn't stand out. He's usually a catalyst for the Leafs and I didn't see that. Hyman is an important player for that team. I never said he was one of the main reasons the Leafs lost. Your post is ridiculous. Of course Marner, Tavares and Kapanen were much more disappointing. Duh. |

Hyman was still working as hard as ever, you just look foolish. You lumped him and kapanen together, one guy played ok and kapanen didn’t even show up. That’s the issue with your statement. Without Hyman they don’t even get to that game 5. |
