If the Canucks could get 2 of them, that would be a pretty nice draft, 3 of them would be an excellent draft. |

Lukas Dragicevic is getting some attention, he'll probably end up on a team that values defence more than Swedes.

MTL GM believes that this first round class could set up a team for a very good future. I'd like Allvin to think like him and want 3 first round picks. |

Contrary to what Nighthawk says, there are several good densemen in this draft, maybe not the shiny type, but solid defensemen, that actually know how to defend. |

Nighthawk believes Alex Wieiemer
He’s worth a late 2nd or 3rd. It was said if we got more picks which we definitely should aim for. I see us taking a BPA C in the 1st unless a RHD rises for us. 2nd round D is the hunt & in later rounds.

I just read Pronman’s piece in the Athletic about the 2024 draft, another Vancouver born kid (Mack Celebrini) expected to go first overall. Although it’s extremely early. |

It is early and Cole Eiserman isn't going to go anywhere. Don't forget Tanner Howe.
If there were two years to tank. It's 23 and 24. |

That draft is going to be a good draft as well.
Watch for Defenseman Sam Richardinson. Kinda reminds me of a young Pietrangelo. Should be a good mix of forwards and defensemen available in this draft.
Too bad the Canucks are looking for young players and not picks. |

6. Sam Richardinson, LHD, London-OHL
Richardinson has been off to a strong start in London. He has a lot of NHL traits due to his 6-3 frame, strong skating ability and some offensive touch. Richardinson is very skilled with the puck, but I wouldn’t call him a natural puck-mover. Defensively he’s quite solid due to his reach, feet and compete. He has a lot of NHL potential.
7. Charlie Elick, RHD, Brandon-WHL
Elick’s physical tools jump out at you as a 6-3 defenseman with pro mobility. He’s not a top-end puck-mover, but he has good hockey sense. He competes hard, isn’t afraid to use his big frame and makes a lot of defensive stops. It’s easy to think about Braden Schneider while watching Elick due to his similar junior team and handedness, but I would argue he’s ahead of Schneider at the same age.
These next two drafts have every sort of player that the Canucks need for the future and there are more than just a few.
I have faith that management will (frank) it up. |

Elite is a top-end NHL player
Top Line players are those who are projected to be below the Elite, but among the top 100 forwards in the NHL.
Top 6 forwards are those who aren’t expected to be the top players on their team but expected to be offensive contributors and capable of playing Top Line potential if they reach their ceiling.
Regular means the player is comfortably projected to play 200 NHL games, which is considered a successful draft pick. Those players are slotted as bottom-six forwards and bottom-pair defensemen who can comfortably play at the NHL level but will hover around the replacement level.
Impact players are those with the widest range of outcomes. Some in this category will be closer to Top 6, while others will be closer to Regular. It is also where the most flags are found. There are players who, if they hit, can be a Top Line/Pair player, but if they do not, they will not play in the NHL.
