I have no opinion on him hockey wise (he's never been the man from training camp) but I have little (to no) doubt he's a good person if Trotz hired him.
Some fans are probably going to be upset that Taylor didn't get the call, but I like the hire... I also like that he's not part of the usual coaching carousel that the NHL seems perpetually stuck in. Hynes needed to go... Not even so much for performance reasons, as I was worried his coaching style gradually wares on players and can potentially stunt the growth of some of the younger players if they don't physically align with Hynes' tastes. He was too caught up with size and grit, seemingly prioritizing players if you were good at the style of play he preferred rather than what you were actually contributing on the ice.
