At that point we might as well just dress 20 centers every night and see what happens

- UIF

Not that it is going to happen UIF, but his numbers are solid; his numbers on the pp are solid; and if JGP was going the other way it would upgrade the middle with the exception being his faceoff %. He would only cost a 1 mil more a year over the next 4 then you are currently paying Nelson, who would get a raise if he re-signs and it would be more than 7 mil. Regardless it is not going to happen, I just thought it would be intriguing

Yeah, I was mostly kidding. But it's funny to me how we've needed a legit shooting winger since, what...Miro Satan? Maybe 5 minutes of Thomas Vanek?...and the conversations in Isles world always seem to land on natural centers.

It is funny UIF. Same when hockey people were saying the Islanders needed a goalie back in the day when they were playing lousy defense as if the goalie would fix everything.

Schweinie that makes the most sense. But in the last 30 years, when have the Islanders done the sensible.

He's a fine player but he's 34 and makes a lot of money. Isles have enough guys on the wrong side of 30 making big dollars for multiple years.

Pffft.

I could do that.

If I was ten years younger.

And about twenty pounds lighter.

And could skate.

Hopefully Ruslan is not the one that got away. He still should have gotten a look much sooner. It's not like the forward group did not need help.

Despite new contract, belief is Nick Robertson is still more likely to be traded than open the season with the #Leafs.

There is still solid interest in Robertson. And it's always easier to trade an asset under contract as opposed to an RFA, which helped him sign.

I would imagine we'd have to add something else, but this could be an interesting player to pursue and flip Wahlstrom for.

I've heard Wally and Simon chief mentioned on one blog. Do you think it's too much?

Robertson had 27pts in 56gp last year, which is about a 40pt pace over a full season.

Wahlstrom's best season is 24pts in 73gp (27pt pace over a full season) and

Holmstrom's best is 25pts in 75gp which is also a 27pt pace over a full 82. Holmstrom brings more value because he can be, somewhat, relied upon defensively and that's tougher to quantify.

Robertson is also the youngest of the bunch, albeit by a very slim margin

Isles would almost certainly have to include some other kind of asset to make the deal happen. I wouldn't imagine it'd be much, but still something of some sort of value. They have all of their own picks in the next 3 drafts, except for a 2nd in 2026 which went to CHI for taking Bailey

Rookie camp roster. Pretty boring considering no NCAA players are there, obviously Eiserman would have been interesting to keep an eye on

Kinkaid on there getting a shot as I said. There must be something to the sOrOkin concerns whether mental or physical. Hopefully the later and very minor!

Something interesting insight in the rookie video interviews. Getting excited for some real hockey soon.
