George is an interesting name to watch. If he doesn’t make the team, he’s definitely an asset.

Roy on Tsyplakov: “I'm very happy. From what I've seen, he competes. He's a good skater. He's strong on the puck. From the rookie camp to today, I'm very excited about what I've been seeing, and I look forward to the next few days.”

Cizikas on Tsyplakov's strength: "It's like battling Chara out there, man."

Our blogger covers 5 different teams. He hasn't written a new blog for ANY of them during the month of September. My guess is that he is finding his high school courses more challenging than his middle school courses.

Are the islanders without a writer on hockeybuzz? Usually there’s some prospect write ups or something about a new player. Odd, no?

Ben is too busy sniffing his Shelley. I guess Eklund ran out of monopoly money. I think this group collectively has provided better content to this blog without BS.

Yeah I guess Ekland never really found a way to monetize this site. The concept and interest is there. Every team should have their own “beat” writer.

I see Shelley is writing for his other teams. Yet no love for the Isles

Isles face off against Devs tomorrow. I will be interested to see which one of the following Roy goes with.

1. Rookie and prospect lineup
2. Half vet and half rookie
3. Mostly vet with a few rookies

I am leaning more towards #2, I think they really want to see what they have in some of these young kids and depth players. I would also expect to see Kinkard and Hogberg in goal as they would be the 1st call ups in case of a goalie going down.

STANDOUTS
Julien Gauthier's two goals came from him being in the right place at the right time.
Bo Horvat and Maxim Tsyplakov are developing chemistry rather quickly, with give-and-goes throughout.
Anthony Duclair is more than just a fast skater; he uses his long reach and quick decision-making skills to create many chances.
Matt Martin (PTO) doesn't just look healthy. He's been effective in all areas on the ice.

Is there a better place we can do this on? Besides the fact we don’t have a blogger, I get malware warnings almost every time I come on here now.

Would be interesting if Tysplakov works on that first line and Duclair takes the 2L

#7 has some hands. That was a great pass to tie the game. Wow.

Taped it and his give away on the Devils first goal was bad

If the chemistry dictates it why not?

It was. But then he made up for it with a nice pass to set up a goal.

Haven’t seen that yet. Only saw the 1st period so far. Taped the game. He looks list defensively imho which isn’t going to make Roy warm and fuzzy.

First game on an NHL rink. I’m sure there’s some adjustments to be made. But, he’s got legit skill which is something the isles lacked….and they gave up nothing to add said skill.
