Charlie O mentioned that covid screwed up his development and he was probably brought up too early - WhiskeyMan
When he laid it out he made a pretty compelling case for patience. We sometimes forget how much Covid screwed up every little thing in the world.
I deal with it every day at work.

you see the flyers having any real interest in Askarov? - hello it's me 2050
IMO, this will be a case where Nashville holds firm on the high price tag, knowing that one or more teams will see their goaltending falter in the first 1/4 of the season and someone will eventually meet or come close to the asking price. If the Flyers goaltending falters then yes, they will absolutely have interest. But, I don’t see them with serious interest right now. |

I think they should at least price it, but I don't think the Flyers will be where he is traded. I'd personally have interest. - bmeltzer
Based on what you know do they flyers feel they have a legit #1 goalie on the roster or in the system? It is a huge question mark now and in the future. Carson and the other Russian are young so might be too early to tell.
Just curious what would you give up/offer for Askkarov. Thanks as usual!!!

Looking at the Berniers deal this was one reason I did not want to resign Konecny. I know it is done now but if Michkov is as advertised, he is not getting a bridge deal and will be in that 7-8 million range.
Still hoping to see Laughton moved. |

He is young and obviously has missed a ton of time with injury. In my opinion, a judgement can't be made one way or the other right now. I want to see him play a full or close to a full season. Then we'll all have a better idea.

The way it was laid out, and I agree, was that he should probably be at best in his 2nd NHL season. He missed a whole season during Covid, and was forced to play at a higher level when he normally still would have been in junior, for a pretty bad team to boot. He did well and actually played 81 games. But he probably could have, and still does, need some development time.
If he stays healthy and gets more comfortable we should hopefully see a leap in his play over the next few seasons.

The Flyers also got a 2nd rnd pick. As is always the case in trades and draft picks….it’s a wait and see. I think the point being made is that the Jets traded a guy that EVERYONE knew was getting traded and look to have done just as well as Flyers.

I don't understand how you can even make this statement. Drysdale was touted as the best defenseman in his draft class, and already has a couple seasons worth of NHL experience. We clearly can see he can play in the NHL and his skating and skill level is extremely high. Obviously he has to get through his injuries and stay on the ice, but at 22 years old, he stall has the time to get stronger and learn how to avoid danger situations. Brayden Yager is a good prospect, nothing more. A prospect mind you that was not even picked in the top 10 of his draft class and hasn't played a pro game. I think its far too premature to state anything about Brayden Yager, never mind if he is equivalent to getting Drysdale and a 2nd round pick. |

even when JD has been healthy, he hasn't been all that impressive. He has a long way to go to cement himself as a legit top 4 dman. - hello it's me 2050
I disagree. When JD has been healthy he has been impressive. The problem is even when he came back from the shoulder injury last season, he still had a core issue he was dealing with and he tried to play through it which is extremely difficult to do. I think JD needs to do what Sanheim did last year, and that is commit himself to getting stronger this off season. My understanding from Bill and Jason is JD has been around Vorhies the entire off season, so that is a very good sign. |

IKR... you'd think they'd care just one iota about the people that click on their videos to watch. Unfortunately, a few hundred bucks for a couple of microphones just are not in the budget for such a cash strapped corporation like Comcast.

I think Brad Shaw will surely help him defensively and positionally, as he has done with York. JD just needs to be a gym rat like York and Sanheim was last off season and he will be fine. The fact that he and York have stuck around here this off season is a good sign that JD is doing just that. |

Drysdale was not the first defenseman taken in his draft class. At this point in time, Jake Sanderson is significantly ahead of him. You need to apply the same standard to Drysdale as you apply to Yager

Drydale has not been in any way impressive at any point in a Flyers uniform. Man, you are a homer.

Interesting. RyJo is actually Kurt Overhart's biggest contract and Client at a 64 Million dollar deal. So While this is a final year, it's been his Biggest payday to date. So I feel like the Agent's got a lot riding on this. While his company KO does represent Farabee, the only other Flyer he represents personally is Helge Grans. |

The Johansen deal has one year left for 8M. It's a fraction of the contracts that KO holds. |

You say you don’t understand how I can make that statement and in the very next sentence you give my argument ? Again my comment is easy to decipher. All that talk about keeping the quitter talk quiet in order to preserve his value was BS…it was BS then and as proven yesterday it’s BS now. As far as what Brayden Yeager is or isn’t I would venture to guess you’ve never seen the kid play.. |

I keep hearing that Nolan Patrick was impressive when he wasn’t always hurt? Does the ability to actually be able to suit up not play in to your comments or way of thinking? |

I said Drysdale was touted as the best defenseman of his draft class. Yes Sanderson was picked right before him, but the doesn't change what Drysdale was considered at the time. As I stated Yager is a good prospect, but nothing more at this point. |

I do agree the best ability is availabilty, and Drysdale has to commit himself to fitness so his availabilty is high. I never Nolan Patrick was impressive, even when he was healthy which was not that many games. |

He got equal value and everyone knew the kid was disgruntled. For the Flyers, I was told that wasn’t possible and that’s why it was kept under wraps in the Guathier situation. - landros 2
WPG didnt get fair value at least from what I see. Im no expert in either player so im just taking things but what I read. Guy PIT has has a higher chance at being elite and a much higher chance at being an NHL player accoring the link below

the Flyers tried to keep Gauthier's decision to leave the Flyers quiet not so much because of the trade, but was to protect Gauthier from the fanbase in case he changed his mind and signed with the Flyers. With McGroarty it was out there already so there was no way the Jets could ever bring him to the team if he had a change of heart. I think that is the difference here. |
