Points are one thing but he clearly lacked some of his usual mobility. I don't think he was fully right for more than a few weeks all year. - BINGO!
Fox has always been a very poor mobility player. He's still excellent.

he actually had the highest points per game and most goals of his career last season though
I really dont understand why it was an off year, the only thing was that he missed 10 games with an injury, that he reaggravated in playoffs and clearly hurt his play especially vs Florida - jimbro83
That is the only thing I can think of that put him lower on the list. No way he should be lower than fifth though. |

Really he’s 2 behind makar but I can understand makar, Hughes, Josi going ahead of him. That’s it though |

I’ve said since the season ended, gimme Florida again with a healthy Fox and I’ll take my chances. It killed us.
I definitely think Drury and co. share a similar mindset based the lack of much happening this off season. Believing with health things could’ve been different |

The league needs to do something about NCAA players not being able to sign contracts and leaving after their three years and picking their teams. The NCAA is becoming a very common method for NHL entry and with the US having more registered youth players than Canada for the foreseeable future, I expect the NCAA to increasingly be the route NHL players take. It's going to get way worse than it is now. |

Worst time of the year to be taken off your game. He should bounce back. Recency bias a real thing to a fake journalist/analyst. Most likely what has happened with a lot of these "rankings". |

Thing about Fox is that he is shifty and creative. He moves around people not with speed, but with finesse and does it really well. That's why when he was "kneed" that shiftiness and confidence was shot to hell. |

It doesn’t help when guys refuse to play with a certain team and force their way out of an org. (Ie-Gauthier) or refusing to pay any dues before making the NHL (ie-Rutger McGillicutty) w/e his name is |

Oh I don't have an issue with that so long as players are up front with teams about whether or not they'll actually sign with them.
Fox was not. |

Yeah didn't he start with saying he wouldn't sign in canada, and then it became he would only play for the rangers? Penguins have benefited from this as well with Marino and now McGroarty. Still think it's messed up.

He strung the Canes along for a long time. Told Calgary he wouldn't sign with them, but he and his agent gave the Canes every indication that he'd sign with them when his college career was over.
They spent a ton of money sending Tim Gleason up to work with him in person every 2-3 weeks right up until his last year in college ended and he went "Oops you know what actually no." |
