I'd have Fox ahead of McAvoy, Heiskanen, and Forsling for sure. Fox doesn't have the impressive physical traits (mobility, size, shot) some others have so he probably gets overlooked more than he should. |

Fox is at least a top 5 defenseman in the NHL, if not top 3. The only other one I would take for sure over him is Makar. |

it really is stupid. Not including his rookie season, in every season he’s finished in the top five in voting for the Norris trophy yet he’s eight on this list.
The top five vote-getters for the Norris Trophy over the last five years are as follows:
**2024:**
1. **Quinn Hughes** (Vancouver Canucks) - Winner
2. **Roman Josi** (Nashville Predators)
3. **Cale Makar** (Colorado Avalanche)
4. **Adam Fox** (New York Rangers)
5. **Miro Heiskanen** (Dallas Stars)
**2023:**
1. **Erik Karlsson** (San Jose Sharks) - Winner
2. **Adam Fox** (New York Rangers)
3. **Cale Makar** (Colorado Avalanche)
4. **Hampus Lindholm** (Boston Bruins)
5. **Josh Morrissey** (Winnipeg Jets)
**2022:**
1. **Cale Makar** (Colorado Avalanche) - Winner
2. **Roman Josi** (Nashville Predators)
3. **Victor Hedman** (Tampa Bay Lightning)
4. **Adam Fox** (New York Rangers)
5. **Charlie McAvoy** (Boston Bruins)
**2021:**
1. **Adam Fox** (New York Rangers) - Winner
2. **Cale Makar** (Colorado Avalanche)
3. **Victor Hedman** (Tampa Bay Lightning)
4. **Dougie Hamilton** (Carolina Hurricanes)
5. **Shea Theodore** (Vegas Golden Knights)

Any current top-20 list that had Drew Doughty listed on it should be immediately discredited.
That said, Shea Weber should be on this list because he's Shea Weber. |

Philly fan coming in peace.
Yeah, 8th is absolutely too low for Fox. Hard to argue with Makar and Josi as the top 2 but Fox should be in the 3-5 range. |

Forsling was great in playoffs but dang that's wild ranking for him |
|
|
|
Positions 14-18 are so absurd the whole ranking becomes a farce.
Love Werenski, Dobson, Ekholm and Hanifin. They’re top dmen and I would take them on my team any day. But they don’t belong here.
Bouchard also too high at this point. Has to put a couple all-star seasons together in a row before being considered a top 10 dman league-wide. |

I would worry about Makar staying healthy more than I would Fox and Fox's best attribute is his brain and i don' see there being much fall off into his 30's - I will take Fox first on the list - hey I am a Rangers fan- shoot me

I really don't understand the argument that Heiskanen, Forsling and McAvoy are better than Fox
I can understand Fox 5th, I can be a reasonable fan, but, why are those 3 players ahead of Fox

Like a wrote earlier- Fox has never been off the top 5 in Norris voting - How can he not be in the top 5? head scratcher |

Yes, I started.
...with a harmless joke, that I feel TJ would honestly get a laugh from. No homophobic slurs or real slight in any way. But, it's 2024, so I guess this is an unforgivable transgression. Feel free to cancel this 51 year old guy with no social media. I'll wait here. |

I don't need to be the center of the Rangers blog universe. So, if that's all you've got, let's move on.
........
There are some great, young defensemen proving themselves around the league over the last couple of years. But, how does that nullify the ones who have already proven themselves for 5 years? |

You really are a fragile, little thing, aren't you?
