I don’t see the Canadiens doing this. Losing a #1 center for a UFA and a winger. Seems counterproductive |

When's the last time a deal with significant roster players happened right at the start of camp? |

I can't imagine the Jets being interested in Suzuki who at best is a 2nd line smallish centre...especially for Ehlers and Perfetti...unless the Habs add a few let round draft picks |

1. As I originally asked in the prior comment, when is the last time a trade involving three high end roster players occurred during training camp?
2. Ehlers makes zero sense for Montreal.
3. Perfetti is in Winnipeg and appears interested in signing in Winnipeg. |

Just something stupid and unrealistic to write when there isn’t anything real to talk about. Can’t really write anymore about the idiots Sweeney and Neely , which is the only real impactful situation right now. Maybe some new offer sheets will evolve lmao ….. |

1. rare for sure...
2. I don't disagree...but that's considering thinks they are still building. Laine didn't make much sense.
3. He has been on the quiet side. Good soldier, he very well might want to stay in Winnipeg... |

Makes no sense. Suzuki was more productive then Perfetti.
The Canadiens are trying to build something, not tear it down irrationally. |

Laine has two years left and two years younger. Montreal was paid to take him as a liability as Montreal can take his full cap given they are still rebuilding. Ehlers is a valuable rental that will require assets to acquire and is too old for a rebuilder. So a largely different situation. |

So Montreal drafts Suzuki. He develops into their 1C. They lock him up for 8 years. They name him Captain.
But then they trade him for a far less accomplished Perfetti, and Ehlers - a pending UFA winger when they already have Caufield, Slafkovsky, and now Laine on the wing.
Seems bizarre to me. But if Gretzky can be traded then anything is possible! |

Looking for 2 more managers for our yearly straight shooterz yahoo league. 20 teams, no money or keepers, stats include hits/blocks. Draft is Friday the 27th 9pm eastern. Shoot me a direct message to let me know. Go Devils! |

Suzuki is NOT an untouchable. He’s a 2nd or even 3rd line Center on any of the 5 contending teams this year. That said, don’t see MTL trading their young captain and picks for what is suggested here. It neither makes them a good team now nor in the future. |

Correct. My bad. So they acquire him via trade, lock him up for 8 years, appoint him their captain...and then look to trade him for lesser pieces and a UFA rental. Not to mention they don't have the cap space. But definitely a story to watch. |
