They moved Walker because they couldn't come to a contract agreement. Building the talent of the team up is significantly more important than giving any young player a taste of the playoffs. If a team is developed well, that playoff experience will eventually come inevitably. If the Flyers make the playoffs this upcoming season, that will be a disaster for this franchise. I'm hoping that they see and recognize what introducing an elite talent like Michkov can do and think, hey we need more of that and focus on the draft. However the most likely is that they think it is "go" time and escalate with trade and free agency as soon as they can. - MJL
let me ask you something cliff. if they did make it and all the young players took big strides, how would that be a disaster?
your version of a disaster is they won't get a high pick. correct me if I am wrong on that.
Also CO-GM has said he doesn't want to build around elite talent like the avs or leaf. |

You aren't taking into account that those teams you mentioned are all deeper than the Flyers and can handle some shortcomings. The Rags have some stud defenders and still plenty of firepower. The Bruins are deep and very sound defensively for the most part. Carolina is a very good team despite their questions in goal. The Leafs will easily make the playoffs. I will go on record as of this date that the Flyers will finish in the bottom 10 this season. I hope I'm wrong cause I wanna see some playoff hockey, but I just don't see it. Of course, we shall see how it plays out. - Phillywhiteout
Other than Andersen staying healthy, Carolina doesn't have questions in goal. I think they're going to be around the bottom 10. Like somewhere around the bottom 8 to 15 range.

WTF is your problem? You are such a dumb snarky turd. I was just commenting that the league wouldn't schedule such a thing unless they were as dumb as you are. I have no idea what your point was and nor do I care. I will refrain from commenting on any of your posts going forward (unless you have some dumb retort to this comment). Oh, have you figured out what a cliche actually is yet genius? - Phillywhiteout
So let me get this right. I laid out my comment in very basic terms (not to mention using small words) and you still admit, you didn't understand the point and somehow I'm the dumb one. Why you commented at all while not understanding the post is definitely beyond my understanding. So let me lay it out for you again and try to follow.
On Thursday October 3rd, there will be a pre season game where the Philadelphia Flyers will match up against the New Jersey devils beginning at 7pm
On Friday October 4th, there will be a regular season game beginning at 1pm where the New Jersey Devils and the Buffalo Sabres will match up. The game is in Prague.
Do you follow now? Okay, stay with me further. Basically the October 3rd game is a waste for the Flyers because the Devils actual roster won't even be in North America. So some AHLer trying to prove himself might actually take a run at one of our guys in a pointless trying to prove himself.

Sanheim and York - MJL I don't agree. I think if you go from day one through until Walker was traded he was the best. Sanheim was good at the beginning of the year and then tailed off. York was the opposite. He was just average the first half of the season and then really picked things up in the second half of the season. Aaaaaaaaand, here come the stats.

LOL Yea, I usually provide facts that show that your opinion is just rhetoric but I'll pass this time. You're incapable of understanding it anyway.

Get it? - roenick97 I got that and I stand by the fact that it is dumb scheduling by the NHL. Why have an AHL team play an NHL team. Just cancel the stupid preseason game cause there are still too many. I mean, what's the point of having the game. Either that preseason game shouldn't be on the schedule or the Devils opener should be scheduled at a later date. There's no point to that game being played if the real Devils are already gonna be overseas. On another note, have you figured out what a cliche is yet? |

I mean stats like GF% GA/60, GF/60. Really tough stuff to understand. |

I’m watching the PHLY Flyers podcast right now, and they’re just going off about the amount of pre season games there are. Not to mention, making the interesting point that the Flyers last pre season game is against the Devils and supposedly the Devils first regular season game is the next night in another continent…which means the Flyers aren’t really playing the Devils the night before, which could risk injury for the Flyers. - roenick97

Nobody has to do a dam thing to make you look stupid. You do that all by yourself pretty much every day. Today is just the latest example.

They arent Deeper. Leafs got no one outside of Marner, Matthews, Nylander and Tavares. Domi, Knies, McMann, Homberg, Kampf and Robertson are not better than anyone on out top 9. Goaltending is just as much of an unknown as the Flyers. The Defence is disgusting, not in a good way. The Leafs arent Deep, they just have 3 of the best players in the NHL.
Rangers are the same They got Zib, Krieder and Panarin. Outside of that they got Laf who may or may not take a step forward. Kaako who has been disappointing. Excluding Trocheck nothing there is great. Their Defense is better and they got a God in net.
Boston has very little talent upfront. Marchand whos 36, Pasta and an overrated Lindholm. Aside from that the rest of the forwards are average. BOS has gotten by on their Defence and Goaltending.
CAR is deeper than any of the teams above but they lost some key players. I dont like their goaltendiong either.

All of those teams are better than the Flyers. You're comparing the Leafs secondary players to the Flyers top players. You're uninformed on the Canes goaltending.

There is a reason that those teams finished way ahead of the Flyers in the standings last year. |
