He says "you guys", so it wasnt just at Mitch.
But agreed, quit female doging, just play.
Also, as i said then and repeat now, this happens in sports during big games....players get verbal with eachother to push each other. No big deal.

Apparently the episodes on swayman and mcdavid in the prime series are very good. Apparently some very good insight into both of them, specially mcdavid and his desire to win a cup.

Interesting that he said "you guys" vs YOU, wonder if he meant Marner and Matthews or just the generic "you guys" as in some of the guys.

Can't say I recall seeing Matthews really whine or complain about non-calls etc. to officials so it would seem to be odd if Willy was talking about Matthews and Marner specifically.

It's ancient history now anyway and I'm sure none of them care one iota about it but for sure the media and fans will continue to analyze and dissect it CSI style. lol

From the short clip of Mc Jesus in the trailer it's clear he is intensely focused on winning and not shy about being vocal and calling guys out. We can only hope the guy now wearing the C in Toronto has some of that in him because as much as I like JT I think he just has too much of the nice guy attitude in him and is the 'quiet leader' type which can work with some teams but doesn't seem like the right fit for this Leaf team.

You have to lead first, worry about your teammates loving you 2nd and the reality is they will love you if you lead them to success.

See Nate McKinnon as a prime example.

That's probably the right approach - feed the rage! lol

Unrelated but the Sens/Habs game was a bit of a gongshow the other night.

Wifi in the middle of it again of course when he tried to decapitate Olympic diver Timmy Apple Strudle but missed his head and got hands and stick. Tkachuck jumping Wifi and owning him was pretty funny though and Wifi seemed angry that he got done to him what he was so quick to do to Pare. lol

Then Dach gets rocked on a clean hit and decides he needs to fight the empty net slap shot loser from Ottawa who hit him. lol

I would guess someone on the coaching staff is gong to tell Wifi to cool it because they can't afford to have a D man kicked out every game!

The hypocrisy of reading Habs fans losing their poop on twitter is pretty funny about Pare on Laine so insistent it was for sure an intentional knee by Pare but still clinging 100% to the "It was an accident" about Perry on JT in the playoffs. Neverminded ignoring the hair pulling by Slak-off-ski in a fight he got one punched in and lost and the dirty play by Pizza boy trying to take out JT's knee in the same game Laine got hurt in. "Rouge coloured glasses" I guess.

Oct 9th should be an interesting game, fair bet Berube puts Reeves into the line up for that one.

Tampa / Flordia game had some silliness too and now Geeke has a hearing for leaving the bench on a line change to engage in an altercation (whatever that means). I mean it's not Wendel Clarkson leaving the bench NOT on a line change to jump a guy and get 10 games stupid but it's still stupid.

This pre-season has been super feisty and that's just stupid to me, especially when you have star players getting hurt but it is what it is I guess.

Hey Cush, love you buddy but I feel like I gotta step in here.

1: You got the events reversed in the Ottawa game. Dach got blindsided by that rat Greig which pretty much caused the whole game to escalate. Dach ended up fighting Greig because Greig had been dodging answering the bell the whole game. I didn't like Xhekaj trying to decapitate Stutzle and I'm glad he only hit his gloves but I fully understand why he'd be pissed when talented players on his team get hurt two games in a row, regardless of intent for the Laine one.

2: I've mentioned this before, I do think Pare acted as a reflex to try and block Laine and it turned into an unfortunate play that resulted in injury. Laine tried to sneak in a very tight spot which didn't help as well. It sucked for Habs fans and for Laine but saying it was intentional is absolutely false and stupid.

3: Saying Perry hit Tavares intentionally in 2021 is also false and stupid. Things happen way too fast on the ice for him to even try and plan such a move. You have to let that go man.

4: Slaf clearly doesn't know how to fight, he's strong as a horse but he looked quite silly. I guess with his size it's bound to happen again but he needs lessons, badly.

5: I've looked at the Pezzetta hit quite often, and in my opinion, you can call it a minor penalty but that's about it. When Pezzetta comitted to the hit, Tavares tries to slip by him instead of bracing for impact, which causes Pezzetta to hit him on the leg. That's the kind of play that happens 100 times during a game, it's just, once again, an unfortunate result.

6: The irony of you calling out Habs fan for their "rouge colored glasses" with the post you just made is beautiful. You'll probably disagree.

October 9 should be a good game but I'm far from convinced Reaves will have anyone to fight as I think Struble deserves to start the season more than WiFi for the Habs defense.

Ya, I assume he's in the top 9. Leafs could carry as many as 14 forwards so I think they've got a few more weeks to get a look at everyone.

We could probalby do this all day long - you will see it from your perspective and me from mine - both are biased and to not admit that is simply foolish and disingenuous.

I will just add this though - perhaps I missed this dirty hit (I only saw highlights) on Dach because the hit I saw in those highlights looked clean to me? Do you have a link to the hit that caused the issues? I am by far no fan of Grieg and I think he is a rat for sure and a loser who knew what he was doing when he took the clapper into an empty net but did it just to be a rat. Sure maybe it's silly that anyone was pissed off but it's hockey & it is a bit of a salt in the wound thing that is classless.

As far as getting over the Perry/JT hit - I hadn't mentioned it in forwever and was and am 'over it' but you have to admit there is some hypocrisy in SOME of a fan base saying that one was for sure 100% accidential and then saying Pare on Laine was for sure intentional. lol Even you have said you think both were accidential and for what it's worth I am pretty close to that I just struggle because it's Perry and he's such a POS rat.

Slaf's fighting skills or lack there of dont' excuse hair pulling but he def. needs some lessons if he is going to drop the gloves.

I still think Pezzatta knew what he was doing and had intent but JT is fine now so it's a bit of a nothing burger.

My blue coloured glasses are far more stylin' than the rouge ones man - it's just a fact! I posted that with an extra dose of irony, Leaf fans are accused of being biased by Habs fans likely more than another other fanbase so it was somewhat tongue in cheek but also to point out that Habs fans are 'just as bad' (if you want to call it that) as leafs fans, regardless of if they want to admit it or not.

Oct 9th is being so hyped up now Murphy's law dictates it's just going to end up a boring 3-2 win for one team in OT with one staged fight that will suck and a boring game overall. It's destiny. lol

I do think Xhekaj is going to have to stop doing his best Matt Rempe impression or the Habs are in trouble because he is definitely on the NHL's radar now and there is a feeling he has so far got off fairly light. Next mistake he makes the NHL DOPS may decide to send a message but then again it's the NHL DOPS so who really knows they may send him a congrats card! lol

WTF is that about? So Vegas gets to not have to use LTIR for him and can then use that for other players later like they have before? Good lord this is setting a bit of a dangerous precedence AND will just fuel the fire of the theory that Vegas is the pet project of the NHL and being given special treatment.

Hard to know if it seems fair or not without all the details - which we will never get.

Fun fact about that, a journalist actually timed all three "big late" hits during the game.

The hit on Stutzle was actually the one with the shortest delay.
