Every time I read a post like this, I have to laugh. Think about it this way, if we go with the premise that the current leadership group knows more than some. I have a few questions for you. Who is included in the "some" and therefore precluded from questioning the decision making of the current leadership group? If we apply that to all, then close down the forum and shut it down. No reason for anyone to have an opinion or offer a criticism. Now that I've dealt with that stupidity.
Most teams will have a young player or prospect that they have been developing on Lycksell's level. They already have put in time and resources to developing similar players. That's why players like him go unclaimed this time of year. Secondly and most importantly, Lycksell is a younger player that they can develop and has shown that he has the potential to play in the NHL. Is this team better served by attempting to do that at the NHL level or keeping older players who aren't the future? What is better for a team that should be developing? - MJL
Funny, every time you post 2 paragraphs about a career NHL/AHL tweener, I have to laugh. If Lycksell made the team, you'd be crying about how Torts is misusing him playing him 7-8 minutes on the 4th line.

Strahm and Hoffman have been lights out all season until yesterday. - MJL
The trio of Strahm, Kerkering, and Hoffman is probably the best in the league in those 7-8 inning slots. The Mets are playing other-worldly. Last night's win showed some really good signs for Philadelphia apart from surrendering 2 R in the 9th. |

Lyksell as an everyday player barring injuries should patrol the 4th line but perhaps squeeze into other shifts with other lines topping out around 10-11 minutes/game. His youth, speed, and most importantly energy could be a solid impact to the team. |

Lycksell cleared waivers to be sent down, right? |

Not directed at you but the uninformed constant like to show how uninformed they are. Part of their charm. Top contending teams have 4th line players that play in the 9-11 minute range at ES. No reason why a team such as the Flyers, who are supposedly rebuilding can't use the 4th line to develop "older" younger players who have developed in the AHL and have shown that they can handle NHL play. The Flyers have to have their comfort blankets though and specialize in letting promising player rot because their bottom feeder roster is just too good to create a spot for them.

the flyers are not rebuilding. lets start there.
just curious what has ollie shown in his nhl games? can you give all a summary? Bill has said in the past they do not view ollie as a everyday nhl player. all the other teams agree. |

We should be better offensively. Atkinson wss alright on October and than turned into a black hole. Walker was probably our third best defenseman behind York and Sanheim. The wild card might be in net. Hart seems to be the biggest loss. |

Carter Hart was nothing special and was nothing more than an average NHL goalie at best. It was a blessing in disguise for the Flyers because they would've undoubtedly re-signed him to a new contract at a significant AAV. The Flyers are better off now in their position, not having Hart |

Hurricane Milton has now strengthened into a Cat 5 storm. Going to pound the Gulf coast of Florida again. God bless everyone and pray for their safety. |

See, this is what you always do. You disagree with me in a post o make and instead of directly saying what you disagree with, you do it passively.
Nobody said Hart was a powerhouse in net in anyway. One year later nobody should know what to expect in our current goaltending situation. Not even the all knowing MJL. |

There was nothing posted passively. It was posted in plain language and to the point. The Flyers are better off with their current goaltending situation then they would've been had Hart not been in legal trouble and they had re-signed him. Regardless of how they play this season.
