1.5 years of Tree and the leafs have what seems to be quality goalie depth and D depth.

Still early, but looks good

How is that even a question? I think they might pelt him with gauze.

Now that the roster is pretty-much set, it's time for everyone to get in their Leafs predictions:

They don't want to actually injure him, because they don't want to see him win another Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.

It’s looking like this will be the Leafs opening night lineup:

Knies — Matthews — Marner
Domi — Tavares — Nylander
*Pacioretty — Holmberg — Robertson
Lorentz — Kämpf — Reaves

Rielly — Tanev
Ekman-Larsson — McCabe
Benoit — Timmins

Woll

*Bobby McMann rotating in

The signing of Stolarz looks good. We can give credit to the last guy for all of the other guys except Woll, who have to give the credit to the last guy before the last guy to!

If Hakanpaa can have an impact - even just play 50 - and play in the playoffs, he could be the type of guy they need on the backend to make them harder to play against. I mean that's a pretty duh statement, but we always see how big of an impact "bad" but physical defensemen like Lyubushkin, Schenn or Edmundson have when they come to this group. Obviously Tanev is a great acquisition for now. Hopefully he also stays healthy.

I think the biggest thing I have with Treliving is this pursuit of that soft puck moving D - like Klingberg and now OEL. We have Rielly and Liljegren. I'm sincerely not sure that OEL was necessary since he's not much of an upgrade over Liljegren, especially given his age. Like overall in the playoffs last year Florida wasn't that good at 5v5 and OEL was no better than the rest of his team despite playing weaker opposition.

That was probably by a Leaf fan! I've been to games in Montreal - it's always the drunk Leaf fans who start poop.

Thanks.

I guess Timmins and Myers are the 7 & 8 options? I didn't catch any news where they were sent down.

For the former part - games in Montreal are awesome. I love the atmosphere and the people have always been good to us there. They respect the rivalry and if you give as well as you get in the verbal sparring, it's all good fun.

For the latter part - I might get drunk, but I am not a big guy and my wife insists she won't fight people for me, so I'm not going around starting crap!

Sounds like Patches and McMann will be rotating in and out. I'm ok with this. And while Robbie had a great preseason, who knows what he's going to look like 10 games in, so dry your tears my sweet little angel, everything's going to be alright.

Not in my experience.

As someone who has been to at least 20 Leaf games in Montreal the stupid / drunk fans starting poop was 50/50 at least if not more Habs fans starting it.

A friend and I were challenged repeatedly to “go outside” by 6 drunk Habs fans at a restaurant post game simply because we had Leaf jerseys on and the Leafs won. We had never seen these guys before never mind spoken to them. Guess we were smiling too hard.

It was so aggressive many other customers who were Habs fans tried to intervene and told us not to go outside (we had zero intention of doing so 6 on 2 lol). The manager of the restaurant (Dunn’s if memory serves me correctly) called the police and these losers eventually left but we banded together with some other Leaf fans to walk back to the hotel.

Wild times!
