First Johansson needs to play every game in top six role, second Edvinsson looked much better in game 2. Third Holl played a pretty decent game and is an upgrade over Gustafsson (can’t believe I actually said that). Husso should not see the crease in Detroit again unless extreme circumstances. Time to put this goalie nonsense to bed. Also Kasper should be the one called up with motte taking fisher place. Can we waive Lalonde. |

I thought Berggren looks okay and I believe he will score 20+ goals this year if he stays healthy. |

I don’t think Kasper will stay down until year’s end, but we’ll see how it pans out. Berggren made some physical plays and seems to be willing to alter his defensive play. I’ve had one person speculate that they don’t see him sticking around, but I have no idea |

I’ll give the benefit of the doubt, Johansson is a defenseman so I’m guessing you want to see him in the 6 D instead of rotating out. I agree on Holl defensively for sure last night. Gustafsson will likely see another shot but not a lot of enthusiasm in the comments. Kasper is who a lot of people want, LaLonde’s comments seem to lean a different direction but we’ll see how it pans out |

Kasper probably called up at end of year. But if they’re in the playoff hunt I don’t see it being a “cup of coffee” esque experiment, rather, injury call up. Yzerman and Co. love their prospects extra ripe.
I was expecting more pop out of Bergy tbh |

I think this is a safe bet. 15-20 goals
If he stays healthy. Wanna see more if Johannson - seems smooth like butter. |

Yeah, Watson-Rempe fight will be disastrous. |

I’m not sure what may lie beneath the surface of this, but Husso going down now shows that bringing him in was a big mistake. I was excited to see how he’d do when we signed him but quickly realized it was a major mistake. I’m much happier with Tablot & Lyon, AND that frees up an additional slot on the team…
Watson….at 1st I thought this was a good move, and may be to a small degree BUT…. if we played with more of an edge, there’d not be a need to waste dollars and roster slots on a guy who isn’t going to be anything more than a punching bag. I hate to say it but maybe some of our guys need to take some on-ice boxing lessons. The fact is we have some big dudes, and maybe they need to sacrifice some of the flash for a bit of crash. Not saying we need to goon it up, mind you, but we do need to play with a bit more of an edge. Teams will take advantage of the fact that they can crush Larkin knowing there won’t be any price to pay…. |

Wholly agree with that. Rempe’s a unique talent, he can bash teeth down your throat while gouging your eyes out :/. He definitely plays with an edge and is a brutal puncher. If we played with a bit more of an edge…. But Rempe’s like Mike Tyson on skates….. |

Rempe is a heavyweight in a league that no longer has heavyweights. It was very different in the days of yore, when every team had a heavyweight. In most fights, Rempe is the only one of the two who is a fighter. In most fights, he's got a 5 to 6" advantage in height. The issue for most teams is, fighting Rempe is a trade-off of losing a capable player for 5 minutes in exchange for a player whose job it is to get better players off the ice for 5 minutes. When they play NYR, just bring up Watson, let them have at it, and neither team suffers a loss of talent.

No GM in their right mind is going to pick up Husso. He's not even worth half of his salary. |

NEW YORK POST: Larry Brooks wondered if Steve Yzerman might put in a call for Joel Quenneville to replace head coach Derek Lalonde if the Detroit Red Wings get off to a sputtering start to this season. He also suggested a projected contender might turn to Quenneville.
Not Lalonde's fault with this Stevie Y built team. But greater coaches have been replaced to take the focus off the GM............Stevie: Fix the D!

I agree, I started doing the “you never know” disclaimer after a few far from likely things happened. One of the biggest lately was Stamkos leaving Tampa. Husso looks to have lost that pre season loving feeling |

Husso looks to have lost that pre season loving feeling - Jeremy Laura The Avs and the Oil both have had terrible starts by their goalie tandems and have to be thinking of what goalie is on the market, but Husso is not their pick! I remember a few years back when Kenny gave Jimmy Howard a call to come out of peaceful retirement to join the Oil! Me thinks these teams in need may scour the European market to sign a newby or a once-was! |

SN has it confirmed that Lyon is starting against NYR!
I guess Lalonde is doing a goalie rotation regardless of the previous game...at least for now. |

Watson will be in action versus the New York Rangers on Monday once he's officially recalled from AHL Grand Rapids, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports |
