Shesty bounced back after a bad outing. Reminds of Vasilevskiy. Russian tenders tend to be the best. End of this story.

Austin Watson played 4:54 and took an unnecessary penalty in the offensive zone.

He played 9 shifts and two of them were 2 seconds long--one immediately before the end of the first period, and one immediately before the Rangers' third goal. (Which incidentally was his only third-period shift until after the empty netter.)

If you can't trust the guy with anything more than garbage time (and even then he makes you worse) then honestly why bother? Either free Kasper or go 11/7. Not that it would have changed the outcome but Gustafsson would have been a lot handier to have available.

Brutal. PP isn’t getting it done, not even close. As I watched the flow of the game, I honestly saw some continuity but it wasn’t continuous. Passing when we shoulda shot, shooting when we shoulda passed, committing to a defensive passing lane only to get burned…. Timid. Hesitant. Pensive. Regardless of what it’s called, it ain’t consistently aggressive.

Tough call to bring up Watson….. Not really. Like I’ve said, and most everyone else has…. Kasper needs to be up. Waive Watson. He brings nothing we don’t already have available (but refuse to use, with only a few exceptions): size.

Eddy’s skating is insane. This kid’s got something special. Johansson’s showing that he’s going to contribute effectively, I really like this kid. Holl. What the heck?!? Where was this guy last year?? He’s been one of the 2 better d-dudes. Anyone got any hot sauce? Crow tastes better with hit sauce. (I know it’s early, but….)

Wholly agree with the statements above. Watson’s wasted $$ and roster space. Sheshterkin. Is he the best right now (over the past cpl of years)? May be….

We get these guys tomorrow, wondering if Rempe plays…. Guy’s a beast. Trouba….man, talk about altering your game to utilize your size…..

So glad Watson got called up to take penalties 190' from his own net.
Lyon was unable to find his net at times, so glad a lot of those shots were missing the net!
11-7 with Watson sitting is probably the way to go on the next outing.
And it is trying to snow here already.

There are some things to like even in a loss.
Seider is Seider and looks great, I wish he would carry the puck into the O-zone a bit more often on the PP. Edvinsson continues to grow and Johansson looks like a solid defender that should stay in the line up. Holl looks like a different player, can he keep it up?
Not sure what is going on with Kane, seems like the magic isn’t there at the moment. The PP is over passing too many cross ice passes that opposing teams have figured out. I don’t see Compher as a fit on PP1. Burgers best game of the season. Seems like they are working hard for the most part but last night outclassed by a really good team and a superstar goalie. Tough schedule to start the season! Watson was a waste of a call up. Not a very smart player. Should have gone 11-7 or brought up Kasper!
