Ehlers to Leafs doesn't make sense

only option would be a swap of UFA's Ehlers for Marner
(of course Jets would have to add a pick or prospect to balance value)

It came from a highly reliable source. So obviously it makes sense.

Who cares about Shesterkin? Filip Gustavsson has a .948 save%, 1.66 goals against and as many goals as Kaprizov.

I traded the Sabres bus for a pack of 1987 Topps baseball cards. I threw out the cards and kept the stay gum. It’s has more staying power than this team. They can walk to Columbus

He’s the Shohei Ohtani of hockey. I’d give him a 40 years, 1 billion contract with 990 million deffered onto the last 32 years of the deal. E4.

In what world is Igor being judged on a game by game basis for his next contract? What front office/agent is looking at a player with the body of work that Igor has and saying that his 8 year contract is going to be affected by how he performs on a given night in October?

If you want to say injury risk may play a factor that's fair enough, but the Rangers will be paying Igor for his playoff performances, not because he shut out Pittsburgh or gave up 6 goals to Utah.

Idiotic.

Why in any world would Shesterkin sign before July 1st ? I’m pretty sure with Utah money out there and CBJ money available ( two up and comers ) he could make 13.5 to 14 million easy. If he signs before that date it’s an emotional decision not a logical economic one ! Same with Rantanen

Perhaps he meant fans and media will comment and judge on a game by game basis.

Argument in Igor’s favour….I’m the Carey Price of this generation so pay me the equivalent of Prices 13% aav cap hit which is $11.96 X 8 years

Argument in Rangers favour…..$88M is the richest nhl goalie contract ever. Other teams would have to offer you $12.57 x 7 years just to get to $88M, and no contender has that kind of cap space in 2025. So take it or leave it.
