Finally, a 7:00 game. Phew! Those 10:00 PM games were brutal. Especially for you, Bill.

They were horrible! Especially with the Stars inevitably playing the same nights all week and the Phantoms opener last Saturday. I was going to bed around 2 a.m. and getting up at 5 to start on "5 Things"/ Friday Forecheck for Flyers' official site.

He was scratched in the opener, too, along with Gendron.

Seems a little odd to not have him play while 2 AHL vets do. In Lappy we trust.
Not that Rizzo is this great prospect but rather him play then others.

@Bill what are your thoughts on the handling of Andrae? It seems to be very poor use of a promising prospect. He could be playing in the AHL and getting better rather than just sitting for a week doing nothing but practicing with the team.

LHV didn't have any games while he was up. All he would have done is practice with them as well. They played last night. So, what did he really miss 1 game?

Well, at least an NHL goalie is starting in net for the Flyers tonight. Pretty brutal way to have your home opener. Playing less than 48 hours after a long west coast trip. Could get ugly. You're all exhausted from the travel and adjusting to the eastern time zone, now go kick ass on your home opener. Eh what?

And he got some bonus frequent flyers miles in the process. Not to mention he got paid for flying, practicing, watching hockey, and drinking beer.

John Tortorella will not be making himself available pre-game. Often, he will just text PR the goalie and any lineup changes.

We are trying to get an assistant coach and a player.

Only if he suffers other injury and needs further surgeries. That is not the case.

So Cutter Demoted to the 4th line and benched for the final 8:38 in the 3rd period.

Could you imagine this board if Gauthier was on the Flyers and Torts did this? People would be losing their minds.

Yeah. I bet the 4pm starts for western teams are really hard for their fans to watch. Must lose lots of sleep. Poor muffins.

“Torts hates young players and doesn’t know how to develop them!”

Torts definitely gets in his own way but when he picks and chooses players, it definitely has nothing to do with age. I remember he loved a young Michael Del Zotto in New York. Tyson Foerster and Jett Luchanko are definitely favorites now.
