Great job Yorkie... from what I watched, Soucy couldn't pass the puck in the first period. I saw almost 7 giveaways in the first 10 minutes from him alone. He was really fighting the puck hard and it makes me wonder if he might be injured. We really need to get another top 4 defenseman because beyond Hughes and Hronek, there ain't much to be happy about. |

The Soucy-Myers pairing has been a shell of what they were last year. They would be great as a 3rd pairing right now... but not a fit as the 2nd pair to date.
Brannstrom has been a great addition for what was a cap throw in, but it's not enough.
Would be happy to see them target Rasmus Anderson as a solid 2nd pair guy. MacKenzie Weegar's name was also floated by Kuzma I think. Marcus Pettersson from Pitts has been mentioned but I think there's better options out there, plus they need someone on the right side more. |

Weegar would be good, but I don't know that Calgary would send him us without something more than our 1sts, 2nd and a throw in prospect. Rasmus Anderson would be more obtainable but again, you'd think Calgary would know how badly we need a top 4 D and try and gouge Alvin. Maybe try to pry either Fabbro or Severson from Columbus? Fabbro would be really good and despite Severson's defensive shortcomings handles the puck very well. |

Conroy hasn't been getting kings ransoms for their players, but yes they'd still get a haul for either one. I think Hoglander will be dangled as a trade chip this year... seems to be up and down in Tocchet's books and keeps getting pushed down the lineup. Still has a lot of value at the moment. |

Thanks Yorky.
Yes they better have banked their energy for the Preds. As the just enough effort against the Hawks won’t cut it.
RT better figure out how to get them to start strong. Bottom 4D other then the surprising Brannstrom not cutting it. |

Soucy's been struggling, he has not looked good this year. Forbort has only played 4 games, which isn't helping the situation. Need to fix that defense sooner than later.
Speaking of struggling, seeing Bouchard had an atrocious game for the Coliers last night, lol, just awful...I love it!!! |

Yes, neither him or Zadorov are playing well in Boston. Fu ck them!! I hope they choke hard on that 12.75 million a year they wasted on them. |

I agree about Soucy and his poor distribution, although I think if Soucy can overcome whatever his issue is the rest falls into place. I think Brannstrom had another good game, I wish more players went for open ice hits like he had. I think too many are trying to strip pucks without taking the body then the puck. |

Brannstrom has been good. Overall though the D is under performing. That will be their ticket out of post season success if they don't fix it.

It's tough, a lot of times when you go for the body, you take yourself out of the play and let someone get open. The game moves too fast for players to go for hits all the time. Sometimes it's better just to keep your stick moving and disrupt plays and passes then try to crunch players all the time. Our coverage in the D-zone IS a problem anyways. Again, it comes back to Tocchet being a systems coach and is stubborn with it and after a while, his systems are predictable and therefore easier to defend and break down. It doesn't help that our D beyond Hughes and Hronek and maybe Brannstrom (although I think he looks good because he's not playing a ton of minutes on the bottom pair and the Soucy/Myers pair is so bad this year) is beyond bad. Boeser being out indefinitely also makes a mess of our lines, and as much as I like Likker, he's not ready to be full-time top 6 in the NHL yet. |

Thank you. Great to see Petey out of the funk. Needs to perform at his highest level for this club to come close to succeeding. |
