How exactly does Nashville get into range to pick Michkov?
They've got nothing to offer as Josi isn't going anywhere. Forsberg with pick 15 might get you into the top-10 but you probably need a top-5 pick to get Matvei. |

Trotz has stated publicly he’s been trying to get into the top 4. Agreed that’s the only way. It’s a long shot the Preds are able to do it, but I’m just speaking broadly that I’d love to see that happen. He absolutely will be top 10, zero doubts. Preds have 13 picks so maybe we can sweeten the pot. It’ll be an interesting week that’s for sure. We’re beginning to free some cap space, loading up picks, and have some strong assets in the pipeline. Lots of combinations that could be tried, which I’m sure Trot has been floating around every possibility. |

I think it's time. For too long Nashville has treaded water under Poille without a drastic change in direction either way, so hopefully Trotz long-term commitment stays that. A full-scale rebuild is necessary - regardless of how painful it may be in the interim. |

I don’t see a path to a top 5 pick. 6th pick might get you Michkov and AZ might deal it for the right return . Trade Soros to Pens for the 14th pick then offer the 3 1st’s . I think it would be a ridiculous price to pay. |

Bizzarre trade. Nashville basically gives away a 2C and got nothing. Galchenyuk is a castoff useless piece that has barely hung into a 4th line role. At least get a draft pick to build with if you are retaining 50%!!
Have to think there is another move here by Trotz.
This one is a head scratcher. |

Dang. I didn't think the preds were in full rebuild. I figured they were re-tooling to try again this year. |

Normally when you rebuild you want to get pics back. Maybe they will be taking on bad contracts for pics? Cannot think of any other reason to do this unless he is making room for Kadri!

Granlund has outscored RJ 3 years in a row and 4 years ago they were close. If he is a 2C then trade for Granlund. |

I have my doubts the Preds ever had enough to offer to get into the top four, but I do appreciate Trotz was willing to attempt it. The days of Poile standing pat and hoping adding a fourth line winger or seventh defenseman at the deadline that barely make it into the lineup are hopefully over. I would've liked to at least have gotten a pick for Joey, but this was realistically the only way the Preds were going to be able to move on from him. Nobody was going to give Nashville anything of value for a center getting paid 8mil a year to put up bottom six stats... And just my personal opinion, but a guy who feels like he's quick to give up and not put forth his best effort when things aren't going well for the team. This move at least clears up 4mil in Cap, and opens up a roster spot for a younger guy, now that the Preds aren't obligated play Joey because of what he's getting paid to be there. |

Hmm picks 15 and 24 to Vancouver for pick 11 and 75.
Gets you closer to the dance and Vancouver really doesn't want to get better anyhow. |

That shows you how bad they wanted to get rid of him! Addition by subtraction comes to mind in this trade. |

We have traded our 79th overall pick to the Dallas Stars for a 2024 3rd round pick and a 2024 6th round pick. |
