Pettersson availability depends on how the season goes. If PIT is out of a playoff spot, he'll likely be gone. He's by far the best defensive dman on the team. It'll hurt to lose him, but probably necessary. Given he is more of a defensive dman, he shouldn't cost a lot of extend. |

I would like the Wings to take the big swing and get Rasmus Andersson.
Holl, Berggren and a '25 2nd and a '26 2nd for Andersson |

Oh for sure. It’s an odd transitional wish list for sure. So much depends on the season |

We definitely need a better righty for Eddy. Calgary seems open to deals |

That would probably be easier than a RD. Blues and Habs have a logjam on D. Would rather a under 30 guy to target, not these guys with big contracts.

I can get on board with that. Stuart loved playing the right side and I loved that dude. Definitely want to go younger. That’s one of the reasons Soderstrom interests me. He doesn’t want to be there and there could be a deal to be made but he could end up behind ASP when all is said and done. I don’t know, just shuffling around |

Blues don't have any defenseman the Wings need and the Wings don't have what Montreal likely wants back for a young defenseman which is likely a good young center ...unless Yzerman can con them into taking Rasmussen because of his "size" and he might be able to play center. Still the problem would remain dealing with any team that has too many defensemen, the Wings already have too many also so one has to go somewhere else.
Apparently Demko is going to have season ending surgery before the season even starts so the Canucks are likely looking for a goalie. Silovs is likely going to be their starter this season after how well he played in the playoffs but they will need another goalie. Problem is they have no cap space. They likely will just sign some cheap UFA that is left on the market. They probably would have interest in Lyon but i think he's going to end up as the Wings starter again by the end of November and i would trade both Husso or Talbot before him. |

I would expect at least a 1st and 2nd to get Andersson like Hronek went for. |

Or they trade for Askerov and demote him to the AHL if Demko should return. Husso is untradeable and Talbot is needed here to replace Husso.

Canucks have no need for Askarov and why would he want to go to a team that has even more of a logjam in net than Nashville does? Flyers probably make the most sense for Askarov since they have no real goalies or even future goalies.
Yes nobody wants Husso at this point because he barely played last season and wasn't putting up good numbers when he did. I wouldn't care if they traded Talbot but they won't do that since they just signed him. Lyon would make sense for most teams with a salary under 1 mil and in the last year of the contract but he's the best of the Wings 3 goalies. |

Yeah, everyone thought he would bring more than that, he brought the Vegas 1st and the rest of the deal did not give the Preds much of an edge in the deal, if any.
It kinda looks like Trotz did Yaro a big favor! |

RIP Sergei Mnatsakanov! - AaronR37
When I think about “team”, I think about the guys who were going to be celebrating standing outside of the hospital. Almost 30 years ago and still painful. The classy reception in Washington for Vladdy (I think Sergei was there as well) went so far beyond the game. Thank you for that heads up |

Andersson is not a #1 D, he is a default #1 on a bad team. Berggren is a top 6 player if given a chance or a very good 3rd line option if the 3rd line is meant to be a scoring line and not a checking line as on DRW. And 2 2nds was good enough to get Toews from the Isles to the Avs. |
