RT has a three step game plan, and it's genius!
1 hockey players should know how to play hockey
2 allow them to do as such
3 real the rewards
50% of the time it works almost 100% of the time. Flawless. The losses and murder games are just part of its charm. |

we're gonna have people say that it's part of the gameplan to allow colorado to control 95% of the play because zona protects the middle of the ice and reduces the opponent's scoring chances. the system works! nevermind that when kuemper and raanta are injured, they tend to lose every game. |

I don't think he actually bothers to check any stats before he posts stupid senseless crap. |

"The Coyotes game plan is a joke, and if Rick Tocchet has a strategy, it's not working."
They blocked 27 shots with relentless checking and otherwise relied on Darcey. That was the strategy. It has the thinest margin for error, but it worked yesterday. The strategy also builds game-over-game. If the Coyotes can win the next game, you might see a frustrated Avs team starting to force things.
No way the Coyotes are going straight-up against the Avs. No way. The talent deficit outside of goal is enormous. It isn't pleasing to watch and the Avs are the better team, but advancing is the only goal of the playoffs no matter how it looks.
With that, Tocchet did a great job yesterday. |

There's actual news over on FFH. Something you'll never get out of this clown. Nice little write-up on Lane Pederson. Could turn into a good story if he makes it.
It's pretty clear that JT got his pee pee whacked by Ek. Haven't seen him trying to stir up the comment section for a while now. |

Tocchet has always fought dirty. I'm 60% certain that he kicked Ray Romano in the balls one at least once.

Markar looked so frustrated at the end of the game yesterday. If the Coyotes can win the next one, I wouldn't be shocked if this went 7 and then all bets are off. |

Well people have won Oscars for barely being in the film.

"Has Anyone Ever Won the Conn Smythe in Round One?"
This can be easily answered by asking the question "Has a third-rate blogger ever won a Pulitzer Prize by commenting on games he/she/they have never watched and by promoting out of context stats with small sample sizes to make a point?"
Spolier alert. NO.
By definition, the Conn Smythe trophy is given to the MVP over the course of the entire playoffs. It's not based on a three game stretch. It's not based on could've/should've/would've projections. The day David Runblad wins the Norris, you can take your victory lap.
Try watching a game. After that, try following many games. You can gain appreciation for what is going on and who the worthy players are. Cherry picking eccentric, small sample size variables is lazy. |

Yaint giving the Avs any credit, which proves you're just streets behind.
You take 3 horses, throw in Keanu Reeves, make the whole world a Belieber, and then maybe, just maybe, you could be a good writer.
I hope you don't get paid for this.
This article in a nutshell: "The Coyotes have a great goalie and they couldn't get anything done against the Avs."
How this article should have went:
The analytical poope I usually pedal has been proven wrong, once again.
The Avs dominated in a game where the Coyotes couldn't get their backs off the ropes. They would block a head blow by defending the body and every feign they threw was called out before they feigned it.
Kuemper is the corner man that they should be able to rally behind, especially since hes the only thing instilling any fear and doubt in any of Colorados players, but Hall is too focused on what jersey he's going to wear next year, Phil "the has been" Kessel is focused on his next meal, the Young guns are shaking in their boots and their dressing room is lacking any kind of voice of leadership to motivate anyone into remembering how to play NHL level hockey.
If Darcy is able to stop enough pucks for the hockey gods to grace any of the Arizona skaters will any luck to put some pucks in net, they might be able to muster some confidence in taking down one of the best hockey teams in the league to go on a surprise run for the greatest reward in all of professional sports.
None of this will be accomplished if the Arizona Coyotes refuse to stop making the kind of decisions that would get them demoted out of the AHL.
Then some commenting about the way the coach is having them play which is made obvious by the decisions of the team in each zone and what the Avalanche coaching is doing to stop them as well as some star comparisons of their superstars compared to others teams as well as who is standing out on the ice and how could be doing better how.
Unfortunately I cannot provide any of that because even though this series is one of three that I really want to watch, the other ones being Columbus and Carolina and yes I know you didn't ask, because I work third shift so I'm either sleeping or working and my dumbass keeps forgetting to record them |

And i love how Stepan, And Richardson score. You can't script this any better. His favorite whipping boy Richardson now has more goals in the 2020 playoffs than the entire Leafs team.
Ps. Hall with an empty net goal. What a trade that has been! |
